Ozzy Osbourne’s son Jack shares tear-jerking post as he breaks silence after death

By staff6 August 2025No Comments4 Mins Read

Ozzy Osbourne’s youngest son Jack has paid tribute to the Black Sabbath rocker following the singer’s emotional funeral in Birmingham on Wednesday

Jack Osbourne, youngest son of the late Ozzy Osbourne, has broken his silence to pay tribute to his late father following the heavy metal legend’s emotional funeral in Birmingham.

Music superstar Ozzy died at the age of 76 on 22 July just days after a Black Sabbath reunion concert was held in his beloved home city in the Midlands.

Taking to Instagram today, Jack penned: “I haven’t really wanted to post anything since the passing of my father. My heart has hurt too much. I’m gonna keep this short because he certainly hated long rambling speeches. He was so many things to so many people, but I was so lucky and blessed to be apart of a very small group that got to call him “Dad”. My heart is full of so much sadness and sorrow, but also so much love and gratitude. I got 14,501 days with that man and I know that is such a blessing. I think this quote best describes my father.

Sharon Osbourne’s heartbreaking gesture to crowd gathered to remember Ozzy Osbourne

Sharon and Kelly Osbourne’s poignant nods to Ozzy at funeral farewell to icon

“Hunter S. Thompson once said: ‘Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body…

but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, ‘Wow! What a ride!’”

“That was my dad. He lived and he lived his life fully. I love you dad,” said Jack.

Ozzy, who had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2019, was “with his family and surrounded by love” when he died last week. A statement said: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”

The day before Ozzy’s death was announced, Jack took to Instagram to share a touching family anecdote about one of his cherished memories from their time on the reality show, The Osbournes.

In a video he posted, Jack reminisced, “Our house that we filmed The Osbournes in, we bought it off this guy who at the time was the President of the Congo, and his name was President Bongo..”

He continued with a story about how his mum, Sharon Osbourne, discovered a closet brimming with campaign T-shirts, leading to the family cheekily pinching one.

The Osbournes, which proved popular among audiences in the UK and across the pond, saw them go about their daily lives as cameras documented their every move.

It came to an end in 2005, but the family members – husband and wife duo Ozzy and Sharon and children Kelly and Jack – appeared across similar reality series in the years following.

In 2009, the variety-style show Osbournes Reloaded was broadcast, and between 2016 and 2018, Ozzy and Jack appeared in Ozzy And Jack’s World Detour, in which the father-and-son duo visited different sites to learn about their history. They also revisited their best bits in the show The Osbournes – The Basement Tapes, which was released in 2024.

Earlier this month, Ozzy bid a farewell to fans with a Black Sabbath reunion, telling thousands of heavy metal enthusiasts at Villa Park, Birmingham – a stone’s throw from where Black Sabbath was formed in 1968 – that it was “so good to be on this stage” as he performed his last set from a large black throne.

Ozzy and his fellow original Black Sabbath members – Tony Iommi, Terence ‘Geezer’ Butler and Bill Ward – were the last to appear on stage as part of the star-studded line-up for the Back to the Beginning concert.
