People in hysterics over chef’s ‘sassy’ response when customer asks for ‘no pickles’

A man couldn’t help but laugh at a chef’s ‘sassy’ reaction after he asked for ‘no pickles’ on his burger – and it has won him a customer for laugh as he appreciated the humour behind his message

When it comes to dining out, you either order something from the menu exactly as its written, or you customise it to your own liking. However when removing and swapping ingredients, you could alter the intended taste of the dish – and as it turns out, insult the chef in the process.

That’s exactly what one man came to learn after asking for no pickles on his double trouble smash burger, with a note saying: “No pickles please. I know…. You guys hate taking them off, but not as much as I hate pickles.” But when the man received his order, he couldn’t help but laugh at the chef’s ‘sassy’ reaction to his request. He shared how his UberEats order included one cajun fires, homemade pink lemonade, an extra signature sauce, and his burger without pickles.

But, when dipping deeper into the bag he came across s small pot of pickles with a label stuck on it reading: “Eat it” alongside a drawing of an angry face.

He simply said on social media: “Passive-aggressive chef strikes back.”

The post has since been shared on Reddit’s mildly infuriating thread, where it has left people in fits of laughter.

One user said: “Lmao the ‘eat it’ tape on the pickle container is sending me. That chef said what they said and I respect the pettiness.”

Another user said: “The >:( was what sent me over into a laughing fit.” A third user said: “I think this chef would be a brilliant drinking buddy.”

One more user said: “This is freaking hilarious. I would absolutely eat that pickle!” Another user added: “This chef is hilarious. I’d definitely be ordering again.”

Commenting on the food industry in general, one user said: “I will never understand why people in various food industries (especially fast food or restaurants in general) complain when people ask for things to not be put in/on their food.

“Unless the s*** is 100% premade reheated bull****, the only consequence of ‘don’t put this thing on my food’ is the person making it has to do less work.

“As a young person working the line, I loved people who wanted plain food, or wanted half the s*** that goes on something to not be put on the thing.

“Simply meant I got paid to do less work than normal, ‘Ohh I can skip putting all this other s*** on this burger? F*** yeah, easy peasy’.”
