A woman has gone viral after sharing a life hack as people are only just realising what the hooks on a supermarket trolley are really used for – and it’s a total game-changer
When it comes to heavy-duty shopping, a trolley is an absolute lifesaver.
But one thing that shoppers often have to remember is to carry a £1 coin for the trolley – however, a brilliant hack recently surfaced online showing how to access it without the need for loose change.
In another revelation, a life hack involving trolley hooks is gaining attention as many shoppers were unaware of its actual purpose. The discovery was shared on X, once known as Twitter, by the famous account Today Years Old, which has a massive following.
The post read: “Did you know?” It also included a photo illustrating the ingenious use of the trolley hooks. One person commented: “Pointless, you don’t get bags like that until you check out…”
While another was surprised: “Ohh not even today’s years old.” So the next time you’re carrying your bags with certain items, it’s worth hanging them on the hooks so they don’t get squashed.
Looking for more savvy tricks when you’re out shopping? Just recently, a savvy woman said a hidden supermarket label can show if fruit and veggies will go out of date.
The personal finance influencer has been sharing tips to help families amid the rising cost of living crisis. Now, she says getting your fruit and vegetables to last longer is all down to a coded label.
Taking to her Instagram account, which boats 440,000 followers, Gemma claimed: “Ok did you know this! A is the month so Jan. The number is the date so say the 18th. Stop getting food waste.”
She pointed to labels on leaks in a Tesco supermarket recently, showing where you can see the code. She claims that as one packaging said ‘F15’ this means June 15. She added: “Want to know a hack for buying freshers food? The F is the month! So June if F, and that is month six. January would be A.”
