Proud son Peter Andre has received dozens of supportive messages from fans after sharing a vulnerable and tear-jerking post about his elderly parents, Thea and Savvas, who both still live in Australia
Former popstar Peter Andre has shared a late night tear-jerking post about missing his beloved elderly parents who live in Australia.
The Mysterious Girl singer, 51, took to Instagram on Thursday night to share some sentimental words about missing those close to you as he urged his followers to pick up the phone and give someone they love and miss a phone-call.
Dad-of-five Peter has recently returned from visiting his beloved mum and dad Down Under amid their ongoing health battles. Back in 2023, the star revealed that his 88-year-old mother, Thea, has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s. Thea lives in Australia with Peter’s father, Savvas, as she faces her declining health.
Although Peter – who shares Theo, Amelia, 10, and baby girl Arabella with his wife Emily, as well as Junior, 19, and Princess, 17, with his ex Katie Price – has just travelled back from his home place of Queensland, he is still missing his elderly parents after being blessed with spending time with this month.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, the former I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! star shared a sweet video of Thea and Savvas from his recent trip back home. Alongside the pictures, Peter penned: “It’s late here in the uk. I’ve just finished on stage. But I just can’t stop thinking about my parents.
“I’m having a moment. Sorry. Just got off the phone with them and looked back at the pics from a few weeks ago. Please call someone you love and tell them as many times as you can just how much you do love them. Maybe do it tomorrow as it’s late now.”
After sharing the vulnerable and relatable post, Pete’s fans flocked to the comments to share their love and support. One wrote: “Never say sorry lovely. We all here to listen to you if you need to talk. It’s horrible when our parents get old and sick worse pain ever, just keep phoning them and keep making memories sending lots of love to you.”
Another added: “This is such a beautiful message I just see this and called my mum told her I love her. She was over the moon.” Someone else echoed: “Time is precious Peter what lovely memories you have from your visit happy memories. Must be so hard leaving them behind. Sending love.”
Meanwhile, another follower suggested that Peter should get back on a plane and go back to Australia to be with his parents. “I think you need to get on a plane. Work will come and go and commitments can be changed, but parents are once in a lifetime. Sending love and healing energy.”
It comes after Pete recently shared a heartbreaking update about his mother’s health. Speaking exclusively to OK! in his column, he said: “Being with my mum and dad in Australia was incredible, but understandably also very emotional. I went with my brother, Michael, and we got to spend quality time with my sister as well. The hardest bit for me is leaving them. Both Mum and Dad are on the decline, unfortunately, especially my mum.
“Every moment was incredible. Thank you to everyone for all the lovely messages I received when I was there. Even though I know it’s part of life, I can assure you it doesn’t make it any easier to deal with. I should be back there very soon for the premier of my upcoming film Jafaica, which will be amazing.”
