The Spring Deal Days has cut prices on all sorts of products, including these moody and atmospheric Philips Hue strip lights – but not for long
All homeowners, new and old, would agree that good, solid lighting will make any home look instantly better. And that is not just the case for overhead lights.
In fact, Philips has made a business out of allowing people to hand-craft how the ambience in their rooms looks and feels. During the current Amazon Spring Deal Days, Philips have cut the price of the Hue Indoor Smart LED Solo lightstrip Base Kit in a temporary WOW! Deal.
The kit includes five metres of Philips Hue LED strip lighting, which can be uncoiled and fastened into place with its sticky underside. Once the strips have been fixed in place and plugged in, the LED light strips can be customised accordingly using various smart home apps, and even Amazon’s series of Alexa products.

The original base kit usually sets tech fans back £79.99 – but during the Amazon Spring Sale, the price has been cut by 26%. This means the Philips Hue Indoor Smart LED Solo lightstrip Base Kit is now sitting at a more reasonable £59.49.
According to the price tracker website Honey, this is the lowest price the product has been in well over 120 days. As a result, any decorators who were toying with the idea of jumping into the Philips Hue ecosystem: Now is your chance. And, considering this is a WOW! Deal, it will not last long.
There are a number of alternatives available. Currys is currently selling the Govee H615A RGB Smart Indoor LED Lightstrip for £29.99.
Likewise, B&Q have a whole host of LED strip lights available on their websites right now; ranging from branded to unbranded.
However, Philips Hue’s spectacular reviews are, arguably, what sets them apart. One Amazon shopper said that the LEDs have totally revamped the house. “I recently purchased the Philips Hue Lightstrip Plus V4,” she wrote. “And it has completely transformed my space.
Whether for mood lighting, accenting furniture, or smart home automation, this lightstrip delivers on all fronts. The brightness is impressive, and the range of colours is endless! Whether I want a warm white for relaxation or dynamic colours for a party, this strip does it all.”
Another person said: “Excellent. Transformed my entire fireplace and brought ambience and warmth into my living room. Placed under the mantle and applied an angled strip to mask the LED strip for glare.”
There are, everpresent, some reservations throughout the reviews, however. One such review read: “However, the power adapter has horrible coil whine. It’s not exclusive to this product, it’s quite common in the hue lineup. But if you are trying to track down a high pitched whine, try turning your hue light down.”
A second person agreed: “I returned it because the included 20Watts transformer is just bad quality. It is an adapter where you can put on the German/Austria Schuko or UK plug. The problem is the adapter is loose and then at least in the version I had and had to return it had a bad contact.”
If you can stomach these teething problems, the Philips Hue LED strip lights may still be the product you desire. And, at the discounted price of £59.49, the product is as cheap as it’s ever been.
