Police are searching for a gunman who opened fire on a home on Friday (December 27), leaving the window riddled with bullet holes in what is believed to be a targeted attack
This is the aftermath of an alleged gunman on a bike who shot at a home, leaving the windows riddled with bullet holes.
Police are still searching for the gunman who opened fire just yards away from a primary school on Queen Street, Little Hulton, in Salford. The Manchester-based shooting took place on Friday evening (December 27) and has since led to a police cordon in the area as forensic officers work at the scene today (Saturday, December 28).
Officers remain in attendance outside the property, which was targeted in a shooting near to Ellesmere Close and just a few metres away from St Edmunds RC Primary School.
Images from the scene show the property was hit by a series of bullets from the unnamed gunman, who is still wanted by police. No witnesses to the shooting have yet come forward but police are urging those who saw the shooting to come forward. One window of the property is seen to have three bullet holes – one at the top of the glass, one further down and one at the frame.
Police say no one has been arrested in relation to the shooting so far. No injuries were reported following the firearms discharge which took place at around 5.55pm yesterday (December 27). Greater Manchester police have since shared their theory on the shooting, suggesting there could have been more than one shooter involved in the incident, Manchester Evening News reported.
They believe three shots were fired by either an offender or multiple offenders on a motorbike in a targeted attack. Witnesses to the shooting have been urged to come forward as police continue their investigations. Police have since revealed their belief the shooting was a targeted attack and that members of the public living in Little Hulton and wider Salford are not at risk of further threat from the perpetrator.
Detective Inspector Justin Bryant, from GMP’s Salford district, said: “This incident will undoubtedly cause concern for those who live and work in the Little Hulton, and Salford as a whole. We strongly believe that this incident was targeted, with no wider threats to the public.
