Pregnant Charlotte Dawson has revealed that she hopes she welcomes a baby girl as she hopes being a girl dad will make Matthew Sarsfield a ‘better man’ after text scandal

When news broke of Charlotte Dawson’s partner Matthew Sarsfield sending explicit text messages to another woman, it’s understandable that the reality TV star was ready to end her relationship.
But now, pregnant with the couple’s third child, Charlotte, 31, has decided to forgive Matthew and hopes that if they welcome a baby girl, it will make him a “better man.” The daughter of legendary comedian Les Dawson, kicked the rugby league player out of the family home after she found out he had been sexting his rugby pal’s ex.
After profusely apologising to a cardboard cut out of her late father, Charlotte made the decision to take him back. In an exclusive chat with the Mirror, she had one wish for her family’s future. She revealed: “It would be amazing to have a little girl – for Matthew, too. I think being a girl dad will make him a better man, but we’ll see.”
Having to deal with the couple’s two sons, Noah, three and one year old Jude, along with the public humiliation over Matthew’s antics, has undoubtedly been tough. Speaking to us, she previously said: “It’s been a crazy time… horrible, having to deal with the heartache, the hurt, and being pregnant too.”
The stress of the scandal also left the Celebs Go Dating star fearing she would lose her unborn child. After Matthew’s sexting came to light, she then told Ok! Magazine: “He called me almost straight away repeating, ‘I’m sorry, I’m sorry’. He was drunk and sent pics of his bits. I said, ‘It’s done Matthew, I can’t be with you any more’.”
She added: “Noah was asking where Daddy was and I don’t want a broken home. I want to do what’s best for my kids. Matthew says he’s going to give everything he’s got to make this work. But I’ve not made a decision on the future of our engagement yet. He needs to change.”
By her own admission, being a family of four, with a baby on the way has put a strain on their relationship as they struggled to find time for themselves. Four years ago, Matthew popped the question to Charlotte beside her dad’s statue. And she immediately shared the happy news with her fans on social media, showing off her sparkling new engagement ring.
Unable to contain her excitement, she wrote: “OMG OMG OMG my darlings IM CHUFFIN ENGAGED!!!!! To the man of my dreams. I cant believe it!!! My baby my life my world @matt_sarsfield couldn’t of done it better.. he got on one knee at my dads statue!!” She added: “The day before we find out what gender our baby is… I can’t cope. My fairytale came true I feel the luckiest girl in the world. My dad got to witness me get engaged… I’m so happy. Love you so much @matt_sarsfield xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx WOW my ring. [sic]”
