Whether you’re dolling up for date night or getting glam for Galentine’s, PLT’s selection of sexy dresses and sophisticated jumpsuits will be perfect for the occasion
Valentine’s Day is less than a week away, and while there are certainly some gorgeous pieces available on the high street, no-one brings the sass required to get hearts racing quite like PrettyLittleThing.
The online retailer is renowned for its figure-worshipping fits and wide range of on-trend styles, and their selection of date night outfits are no exception.
I headed down to the PrettyLittleThing showroom in London to try on some of their hottest V-day picks – not before checking out the new Molly Mae Modern Muse edit, and they really have got something for everyone.
With over 500 styles and a whole host of categories to choose from, including first date looks, Galentine’s outfits and sexy lingerie, PLT has got you covered no matter how you’re spending February 14.
And it just goes to show you don’t have to break the bank to look a million dollars, either, with all of these pieces priced between £20 and £40. Bargain.
Here are some of my top picks from PrettyLittleThing’s Valentine’s Edit:
Shape Red Mesh Cowl Ruched Detail Midi Dress
The PLT Shape range is designed for girls blessed with an hourglass figure, which I was not – however, I have grown very fond of a ruched dress as I find them to be really flattering and forgiving of any ‘lumps and bumps’. This Shape Red Mesh Cowl Ruched Detail Midi Dress is so cute for Valentine’s, with an enticing cowl neckline and ‘curve enhancing’ shape.
Priced at just £20, it’s one of the cheapest I tried on, but it by no means looks like it when paired with mules and accessories. What’s more is that the material is super stretchy, meaning you can wear it to your dinner date and not need to worry about feeling like your zip is fit to burst. What more could a girl want?
Cherry Red Ruch Pointed Corset Bandeau Jumpsuit
Cherry red is such a hot shade right now, from Dua Lipa’s hair to Hailey Bieber’s manicure. It feels like a really sophisticated alternative to a vibrant red for Valentine’s, with rich, warm undertones that feel classy and mature.
Coming in at £28, this unreal jumpsuit is a serious showstopper, and can be worn long after February 14. The lower portion features a slight flare which subtly elongates the legs, while the corset detailing at the top is giving me all the heart-eye emojis.
It’s incredibly comfortable to wear with a lot of stretch to it, but remains really structured too, with the top staying in place without having to pull it up or adjust it every five minutes. How could you not be in love?
I paired them with these Pink Metallic Pu Square Toe Diamante Bow Triple Strap Block Heeled Sandals that lean into the bow trend that I can’t get enough of. Come to mention it, I have an oversized hair bow that would give this outfit a whimsical edge. You can shop them here for just £12.50 in the sale.
Red Chiffon Heart Detail Mini Dress
I must admit, I’m not a mini dress kind of girl, but this Red Chiffon Heart Detail Mini Dress is an exception. The top part of the dress features a bandeau neckline with corset boning, with a red chiffon material pinned at the hip with a gold heart brooch that allows the excess to drape beautifully (and erm, cover your underwear, which would otherwise be on display).
While I don’t think this would be my immediate go-to for Valentine’s, it definitely gave me a confidence boost when it came to shorter hemlines.
Black Satin Corset Bardot Ruched Long Sleeve Shift Dress
An LBD is a wardrobe must-have (and you can really never have too many) so I would absolutely get more wear out of this Black Satin Corset Bardot Ruched Long Sleeve Shift Dress, priced at £40.
Its corset bardot design and flattering ruching are a dreamy combination, with a slight flare to the skirt to give a gorgeous shape. Its long sleeve fit adds a touch of luxe – I’ve been seeing long gloves creeping into celeb wardrobes off the red carpet of late, and this offers a similar sense of elegance.
PLT recommends teaming this shift dress with some heels and a shoulder bag for a fool proof finish that you can wear all-year-round. This could just be the mini dress that converts me.
Red Cold Shoulder Ruffle Detail Maxi Dress
For something a little more romantic, this Red Cold Shoulder Ruffle Detail Maxi Dress is perfect, and can be reworn for summer weddings and holidays in the warmer months, too. Boasting a cold shoulder design and ruffle skirt, it’s incredibly girly and made for styling with beachy waves. The two-way split leg in the skirt allows you to show off your pins, and paired with some barely there heels, this is a look that’s sure to have heads turning for all the right reasons. Buy it for yourself here.
Elsewhere, River Island has also got some beautiful styles in satin fabrics and romantic red hues, while H&M deliver the sweetest mini fits – but it was New Look that actually had my favourite high street pick.
But for something more sultry, whether you’re dolling up for date night or getting glam for Galentine’s, there are so many gorgeous pieces at PrettyLittleThing that will help you get ready to give the look of love. And with their next day delivery, you can order before 11pm on February 13 and still have your fit in time for food. Cupid, eat your heart out.
