Pride of Britain 2025: Susan Boyle shares exciting life update amid stroke recovery

By staff21 October 2025No Comments3 Mins Read

Britain’s got Talent star Susan Boyle has revealed the latest development in her career after earlier announcing her return to the studio. This is the first time the star has recorded music since 2019

Susan Boyle has revealed an exciting new life update following her recovery from a “major” stroke.

The former Britain’s Got Talent star, who appeared on the show in 2009, appeared at the Pride of Britain awards on Monday. She stepped into the drinks reception at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London ahead of the event. The 64-year-old looked world’s apart from her days on the talent competition as she revealed her new look alongside her news.

Ditching her grey curly bob, she donned bright blonde lengthener locks, and a full fringe. Wearing a white and black patterned gown, topped with a fur wrap, the BGT star shared when the public can expect to hear new music from her, and said fans will hear something new next year.

It comes after the Scottish singer suffered a stroke three years ago, with doctors telling her she might not ever be able to sing again. But earlier this year, she was pictured in a recording studio, with her releasing an update about what to expect next. When asked about whether we can expect to hear new music, she told The Mirror : “Not until next year. You should expect something ( then ).

“The ‘I Dreamed a Dream’ singer described the Pride of Britain awards as a “landmark” event and explained why it was important to attend. “It is very important. it is like a landmark. it is very emotional,” she said. Susan endured a stroke in April 2022, which left her unable to speak. She suffered from muscular weakness down one side and had to undergo vocal coaching lessons to help restore her speech and singing voice.

Earlier this year, she said, “you can’t keep an old woman down” as she revealed she has many plans for this year. “I’m back alright. I’m feeling OK and ready to go,” she earlier told STV. “I had a major stroke and I’ve had to fight my way back. It’s taken me three years and it’s been hard – I’m not going to pretend otherwise – but it’s made me determined to keep going.”

It has been 15 years since she stunned the world with her powerful voice on the ITV talent show. This is the first time she has returned to a studio since 2019. She said on Instagram : “Today was wonderful, emotional, and everything in between.

“I made my return to the recording studio for the first time in six years, something I was told I might never achieve again. But here we are, in my happy place! I want to thank my manager, Geraldine, for being my absolute rock through everything and for helping me get back to where I belong. A million thanks.”

Watch The Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards with P&O Cruises on Thursday October 23 at 8pm on ITV1.
