Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s new website uses their royal titles, which is thought to be a red flag to the royal family who could have ‘real trouble’ with its use and shut the website down
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s new website could be shut down by the royal family, as it’s claimed the use of the ‘Sussex’ name could cause “real trouble”.
The website is operated by “The Office of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex” and is a ‘one-stop shop’ for all their activities, but it’s the use of their Sussex titles that is thought to be the cause of concern.
The couple, who moved to California in June 2020, set up their Archewell Foundation and Archewell Productions shortly after. Their previous sussexroyal.com website was launched after they stepped back from the royal family, yet this new rebrand is now labelled as “gauche” and experts predict that it could be shut down by the royal family.

A source told MailOnline: “They are going to have real trouble with the use of Sussex. It is a royal title and if there is any hint of commercialism about this it will be shut down. It’s just staggering they cannot see how gauche it is.”
However a source close to the couple has hit back as it told the outlet: “Prince Harry and Meghan are the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. That is a fact. It is their surname and family name.”
It is thought the Duke and Duchess will use the site to share their personal and official updates, keeping people informed through the “News” section. The website’s “About” page reads: “The Office of Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex is shaping the future through business and philanthropy. This includes: The Archewell Foundation, Archewell Productions, patronages, ventures, and organisations which receive the support of the couple, individually and/or together.”
The website also lists each of Harry and Meghan’s achievements as well as a joint biography, which reads: “They are committed to their mission: Show Up, Do Good. They hold the value that charitable work should not simply be ‘a handout, but rather a hand held”.
The new website from the couple could cause more issues for the already strained relationship between Prince Harry and the royal family, which comes after he is said to be ‘determined to repair his relationship with his father, King Charles,’ after his brief 24-hour visit to the UK amid the monarch’s cancer news last week.
According to reports, Prince Harry is determined to make amends with his father, and has “reconciliation” plans to get things back on track. “It looks like Harry may be learning his lesson … he really wants this reconciliation plan,” a palace source has recently revealed.
