The country girl band already have five identical inkings each and they will add to it if they do particularly well, or badly, in Basel
The three best friends who make up the UK’s Eurovision act Remember Monday have pledged to get identical tattoos if they finish in the top five. And the trio – Lauren Byrne, Holly Hull and Charlotte Steele – also promised to get one if they come LAST.
As they performed a rendition of their song What the Hell Just Happened? ahead of travelling to Basel in Switzerland for the first time tomorrow, the pals revealed they already have five matching tattoos.
“We get them on nights out,” Holly laughed. “Most people end up in McDonalds at the end of a night out, we end up in a tattoo parlour. “And we’ve said that if we get top five or above the whole team will get WTHJH? tattooed.” Lauren laughed: “And also if we come dead last with nil points, that’s also worth a tattoo.”
The girls admitted they felt really nervous as they performed the song with just a single guitar at London’s Drury Lane Theatre in front of assembled press. But as they showcased their strong harmonising ability, they insisted they were “so excited” for the ESC final, which airs on BBC1 on May 17.

It is seen as an advantage for each of the 26 acts to draw a slot in the later part of the ceremony. But Holly admitted she wanted to get it done quickly so they could sit back and enjoy the performances from the other 25 nations.
“We want to be on as early as possible so we can enjoy the concert,” she laughed. “We can’t wait to meet all the fans and other artists and just sponge in the whole experience.”
Yesterday they said the song had been selected from around 15 possibles, chosen once the band had agreed to be this year’s Eurovision act. Sam Ryder was the last UK performer to do well, when he finished runner-up in 2022.
The following year Mae Muller came second last with I Wrote a Song when the contest was held on home turf in Liverpool, and last year Olly Alexander’s Dizzy ended in 18th place with no votes from the public, only the juries.
Remember Monday’s creative director was yesterday revealed to be Ace Bowerman, who has worked with London-born singer Dua Lipa, K-pop group Blackpink plus superstar Ed Sheehan. Lauren said the idea for their staging was “scream-worthy”.
The Eurovision Song contest kicks off with its first semi-final on Tuesday, May 13, with the grand final airing on Saturday, May 17, on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
