Ruben Amorim hails Man Utd wonderkid as angry Omar Berrada confronts Premier League

Manchester United believe they have a star of the future on their hands in teenage sensation JJ Gabriel, the 15 year-old who has already trained with the club’s first team

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim believes he’s got a superstar in the making in teenager JJ Gabriel.

Gabriel, 15, trained with United’s first team this week and is considered one of the most highly-rated talents to come through the academy. Gabriel and his family were invited into the Old Trafford directors’ box for the opening game of the season against Arsenal, and United recently introduced the youngster to Amorim at Carrington.

Amorim was given a closer look at the youngster – who is too young to play for United in the Premier League this season – when he took part in training. He said: “Like everyone, I know he is a really talented guy and everyone paid attention on social media.

“You could see the Under-21s had a game and we had fewer players and tried to pick players for training that have talent, not just for me to see for tomorrow, but for them to feel what it means to be in the first team, the difficulties playing against our defenders, the difficulty of our training, the pace.

“If we can use every training we have to show the kids what they need to do to be here, it is important, not just for JJ but for everyone.”

Also, United CEO Omar Berrada has confronted the Premier League about the number of midweek home matches the Red Devils have between now and Christmas.

United are not scheduled to have another weekend Premier League home game until after Christmas. And Berrada has reached out to the Premier League to “express concern” about the way in which the fixtures have landed.

Berrada’s conversation with Premier League representatives was believed to be constructive while he also requested the Premier League make their decisions about broadcasted games at an earlier stage.

Fan representatives recently communicated their frustration towards this season’s scheduling.

They have felt match-going supporters have had to deal with an unfavourable run of fixtures, in regards to the number of home games scheduled for midweek.
