Russian mum ‘hired assassin to drown 12-year-old daughter’ for chilling reason

A mum has been arrested in Russia after allegedly paying a male acquaintance to kill her 12-year-old daughter because she was tired of her “bad behaviour”.

The woman, named only as Svetlana, was detained for allegedly ordering the contract killing of the youngster, offering an acquaintance £930 to drown the child in a local river in Chelyabinsk region, according to law enforcement. The 46-year-old was not aware the girl was secretly eavesdropping from behind a door and heard her mother’s chilling demand to kill her. Svetlana reportedly cited her bad relationship with her daughter as the reason for her attempt to have the girl killed, saying she was “tired” of the 12-year-old’s “bad behaviour” and their “constant arguments”.

After ordering her killing, the mother-of-four sent her daughter out of the house with the man – Andrey, 36 – in Izmailovsky, it is alleged.

“When they were walking along the road, the schoolgirl was very afraid and worried,” reported Shot news outlet, citing law enforcement. “But the man told her everything and promised to protect her. He hid the girl at his home and went to the police.”

The woman had offered to pay cash for drowning her in Bolshaya Karaganka River, he told officers. Police detained the woman who faces up to 15 years in jail for incitement to murder a minor, if convicted. She was “unable to explain her actions” when quizzed by officers.

The girl has been placed in care with two siblings, aged 17 and six. The detained woman also has an adult daughter, 18.

Last month, a Russian mum was detained after allegedly axing three of her four children to death and severing her baby’s head before dumping it in a cupboard. A courtroom heard that the head of 29-year-old Valentina Mytko’s youngest son – an infant aged just seven months old – had been cut off and was found in a cupboard.

Mytko’s four-year-old daughter had allegedly been strangled but also suffered axe wounds and her eight-year-old son was supposedly axed to death in Kansk, Krasnoyarsk region, Russia, according to witnesses. Only her seven-year-old son survived the brutal massacre, but witnessed at least parts of it after returning from school.

Earlier reports claimed the mum suffered from “paranoid schizophrenia” but this was not confirmed during an initial court hearing, with the mum due to undergo a psychiatric examination. As she sat in court wearing a mask, the mum was asked: “Do you understand why you are in court? What were you detained for?”

“For murder,” she chillingly answered. Mytko was also asked if she remembered how she killed the children, to which she responded: “Three times there was a blow with an axe. I was arrested.”
