Russia’s chilling ‘nuclear’ Tomahawk warning as ‘tensions escalate on all sides’

By staff14 October 2025No Comments4 Mins Read

Donald Trump has said that he may give Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine which would allow it to strike deep into Russia, leading to the Kremlin saying it is “of extreme concern”

Russia has issued another chilling “nuclear” warning as it says that we are facing a “dramatic moment” in the Ukraine war.

Donald Trump has told Vladimir Putin that he may give long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine if Moscow doesn’t try harder to bring about peace. It has led Kremlin propagandists to claim this would be crossing a new line with Ukraine having the ability to strike deep into Russia, and that the West could expect an extreme response.

And now Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said that the situation is “very dramatic” with tensions “escalating from all sides”. He said that “the topic of Tomahawks is of extreme concern”.

He also made a veiled threat about how Russia would respond with older versions of the Tomahawk capable of carrying nuclear weapons. “Just imagine a long-range missile is launched and is flying and we know that it could be nuclear,” Peskov told Russian state television. “What should the Russian Federation think? Just how should Russia react? Military experts overseas should understand this.”

“Now is really a very dramatic moment in terms of the fact that tensions are escalating from all sides,” he also told Russian state television reporter Pavel Zarubin. It comes after Vladimir Solovyov, the primetime state television host who spout Kremlin narratives – claimed the transfer of Tomahawk long range rockets to Ukraine would plunge the world into a new Cuban Missile Crisis like in 1962.

“[The West] just needs to understand that the transfer of Tomahawk [missiles to Ukraine] is already a new Cuban Crisis,” he said, referring to a moment in the Cold War when the world was on the brink of a nuclear conflict. “And when they try to say: ‘What difference does it make…..?’ It makes no difference, we’ll just get hit and that will be the end of it.”

Putin has also said that a Tomahawk supply to Ukraine would destroy his relations with Trump. “This will lead to the destruction of our relations, at least the positive trends that had begun in these relations,” said Putin. “So I say what I think. And how things will turn out depends not only on us and not only on me.”

Meanwhile, Trump, speaking on his way to Israel on Air Force One, warned Russia: “I might say, ’Look: if this war is not going to get settled, I’m going to send them Tomahawks’.” He continued “The Tomahawk is an incredible weapon, very offensive weapon. And honestly, Russia does not need that.”

Trump also said, “I might tell them that if the war is not settled – that we may very well.” He added, “We may not, but we may do it. I think it’s appropriate to bring up.”

For his part, Zelensky described his latest call with Trump as “very productive,” and said the pair had discussed strengthening Ukraine’s “air defence, resilience, and long-range capabilities,” along with “details related to the energy sector.” In an interview with Fox News after his call with Trump, Zelensky was asked whether Trump had approved the Tomahawks and he said, “we work on it”.
