Samsung is adding a £299 free device to these S range orders
Apple has unveiled its newest iPhone 16 range but a new overnight deal from Samsung may convince mobile shoppers to pick arguably its biggest Android rival. As the Galaxy S24 and S24+ now come with a mega freebie.
It’s not a part of Samsung’s newest Galaxy Z Flip6 or Z Fold6 mobile range but the S24 and S24+ still sit at the top of its S range, launched in early 2024. Now anyone who buys either one will get a Samsung laptop for free.
A deal that’s bound to catch shoppers’ attention, Samsung is handing out a Chromebook Go for free for anyone who buys an S24 or S24+. The standard S24 starts at £799, but as the 11.9-inch laptop is worth £299 it cuts a huge chunk off the price.

Anyone with swankier features, like the quicker Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Processor, on their minds (opting for the S24 Ultra) will get the free Chromebook Go laptop too – as well as an extra £100 off the price if they use the code ULTRA at the checkout. To account for its pricier £1,549 price tag – a big step up from the £799 S24.
Amazon currently sells the 14-inch Chromebook Go model for £300, the same size of the model that is thought to be added to Samsung S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra shoppers’ baskets. A deal which rival Carphone Warehouse is matching.
If you’re a casual laptop user, looking to stream movies, use Google, send emails and watch Netflix it’s a good model to look at. Although anyone needing to use heavy software wouldn’t get by with its chipset. It is rated highly, however, for its many ports which make on-the-go charging and extension use easy.
As Samsung’s site says: “Galaxy Chromebook Go’s powerful, versatile ports – including the USB Type-C, USB 3.2, SIM card tray, earjack and memory card slot – are set to bridge learning and technology in a changing world. With more ports, you can expand multimedia uses, extend and add screens, use additional data storage and much more.”
This is echoed by shoppers reviews as many take to Amazon and the Samsung Store to share their thoughts on the Chromebook model. One Samsung shopper said: “It is the best laptop I have ever had the battery lasts all day and it uses the same charger as my phone which makes life so much easier and the laptop is so lite and all my accessories work fine with chrome OS.”
While a second shopper, from Amazon, said it had ‘fantastic processing speeds considering the price’. A positive for this cheaper budger laptop: “This little Galaxy Chromebook is very portable, light weight and easy to pack into a travel bag. It has good processing power (4GB) and storage (64GB) for the price.
“Easy to use and setup from the very beginning. It has simple functions and desktop icons.” Not all reviews are gleamingly positive, as some buyers were quick to highlight flaws.
Out of Amazon’s 194 ratings, eight shoppers have left negative one-star reviews. As one shopper said: “Slow, low memory n the screen has like a 0.03° viewing angle or it looks like watching an old school camera film negative, the hard drive is pathetic, there’s an expandable storage slot, that you probably won’t use because it’s pointless”.
Those who don’t want to splash £799 upfront for the S24 and free Chromebook Go Laptop could also pick Carphone Warehouse’ matching deal – accept this is offered on a pay-as-you-go contract. With the provider iD Mobile shoppers will pay £29.99 per month with a £9 upfront fee.
