Sarah Jayne Dunn has insisted that she knows which of her Hollyoaks co-stars had complained about her OnlyFans account which led to her quitting the soap
Sarah Jayne Dunn has insisted that she know which of her Hollyoaks co-stars made an official complaint about her OnlyFans account, which led to a showdown with soap bosses and ultimately Sarah saw quitting the Channel 4 series.
The 42-year-old was issued an ultimatum by Hollyoaks bosses in 2021, when they insisted that she closed down her profile on the adult subscription site, saying that her racy shots were not sitting well with the soap’s publicity. But Sarah refused and has said that it was the “best decision of her life” in continuing with OnlyFans.
Sarah, who played Mandy Richardson on Hollyoaks between 1996 and 2021, has said that she has been contacted by other soap stars since making a success of her OnlyFans account, asking for advice so that they could follow in her footsteps.
Speaking to The Sun, Sarah revealed that she knew who had complained. She said: “Apparently there is one person who complained. I think I know who that is now, I have my suspicions for sure. It was like any workplace — you get on with most people, but there will be a couple that you don’t. You can’t please everybody and you’re not going to get on with everyone. I think a lot of that boils down to their own insecurities and jealousies.”
Since leaving the soap, Sarah hasn’t looked back and said that others have “reached out for advice on doing what I have done,” and that “lots of people want to know what it is and how it works.” There is only one slight problem for soap stars since Sarah’s bust-up with Hollyoaks, in that they are now banned from having a profile on the adult site. Sarah confirmed: “I know that what happened with all of the soaps is that [actors] had to all sign a new copy of the contract, saying that they wouldn’t do it, that they couldn’t do it.. I think people are curious but people can’t take that step.”
Sarah added: “I never doubted my decision once I made it — the complete opposite actually. I’ve got fire in my belly.” Speaking about how she would proceed on OnlyFans, Sarah said that she agreed boundaries with her husband: “Me and my husband had a conversation about what my limitations and boundaries were. I know where I am at and I am happy with the content that I do. I always compare it to the lads’ mags of the Nineties and Noughties — Maxim and FHM. I feel really comfortable with that and I don’t feel the need to push that boundary any further.”
