A mum on TikTok shared tips for how to make hundreds of pounds through selling on Vinted. Her video has received plenty of engagement from TikTok users
A money-savvy mum has shared how she used Vinted to make hundreds of pounds within weeks.
Many people are using the app to buy and sell second-hand clothes and other items they no longer want. Jess, known as the_pilotswife on TikTok, managed to make £400 in four weeks from selling on Vinted. She took to TikTok to share her top three tips to sell on Vinted and earn some extra cash. Jess first started using the app in August and she now uses it to sell her children’s clothes only.
The mum said: “My first tip would be if you’ve got a lot of stuff then upload what you will to your ‘wardrobe’ and then after that upload one or two items every single day. It keeps you at the top of the algorithm and then that means people keep clicking on your stuff. The more people click on it the quicker you’re going to sell your stuff.
“Number two is post things quickly so have your clothes ready, have them clean, have them in an accessible place, know where your packaging is so Vinted used to have a box.
“I think boxes are expensive and they’re really hard to come by cheaper or free so I’m not interested in that. I would say use a bag so if you do a lot of shopping and you’ve got loads of bags, reuse them.”
Jess explained if you don’t have a lot of bags you can buy a pack of Vinted postage bags that are different sizes and are currently on sale for £4.65 with free shipping. She described them as “great” and currently sells two to six items on Vinted a day.
The mum also advised her 3,842 TikTok followers to know where their In Post lockers and drop off points are for whichever delivery courier they use – whether it’s Yodel or DPD because “once you’ve packed everything up, stuck the label or got your QR code you know where you’re going, you can just drop it off and then that’s it, done”.
She added: “Third tip is I accept offers on everything. If you’re going to accept offers, do it quickly. “I accept offers because I want to get rid. If anyone offers anything as soon as I see it, I accept it. The reason for that is if you’re offering something it’s usually because you’re looking for something and if they’re offering to you, they’re offering to someone else.”
Jess went on to say if you’re looking to make a certain amount of money, make your price on your listing a bit higher. She continued: “If you do it that way then when they offer it you’re more likely to get the price that you’re looking for.”
The mum’s Vinted tips TikTok video has garnered 15,000 likes, 1,096 comments and has been saved 4,770 times. TikTok users shared their own experiences of selling on Vinted in the comments section of Jess’ video and several thanked her for sharing her tips.
