Milena Shevelyova, 17, was knocked over by a ‘large aggressive female pig’ when she went to the sty to feed the animals – and then all the other pigs attacked and killed her
A schoolgirl was mauled to death by pigs after she was left home alone in charge of the family’s smallholding.
Milena Shevelyova, 17, went to the sty to feed the beasts when her parents were away in the city – but she was knocked over by a “large aggressive female pig,” it is believed. She fell and lost consciousness due to the sow’s assault, according to reports about the incident in the Krasnoyarsk region of Russia.
“All the other pigs attacked her,” said a report from Bad News Telegram channel. “The animals tore her femoral artery and bit her. Milena died from blood loss.”
She had multiple wounds to her head and body from “pig bites”. Her worried parents could not reach her by phone and asked a friend to check on her. “He found the body,” said the report. “The parents told the police that the pig had always been angry and aggressive.”
A paramedic team confirmed the girl’s death. The prosecutor of Krasnoyarsk’s Uzhursky District immediately went to the scene. “Her body was sent for a forensic medical examination, the results of which will determine the exact cause of death,” said a statement.
“The conditions that contributed to the tragedy are being established. If there are grounds, all necessary prosecutorial measures will be taken.” A criminal case into death by negligence has been opened. The victim’s boyfriend Vladimir Bedny, 18, posted: “You will forever remain in my heart. Forgive me for everything, my most beloved girl.”
In 2020, a four-year-old boy was mauled to death by a herd of pigs after leaving his house in the Indian city of Hyderabad to play outside. The youngster, who was identified as V. Harshavardhan, was dragged away by the animals to a rubbish dump, where they attacked him and ate part of his body.
He was understood to have left the hut where he lived in the Singareni colony to play in a quiet area nearby. Police were called after neighbours discovered the boy’s badly bitten body. Speaking to local media, Siadabad Station House officer K Srinivas said: “A pack of pigs were loitering around the garbage dump and attacked the child on spotting him. The animals partially ate the body of the boy.”
In a separate incident, a pig farmer was eaten by his own pigs after he vanished leaving nothing but bones in his yard. The man was in his early seventies and lived alone at his farm in Osiek, Poland. The man was in his early seventies and lived alone at his farm in Osiek, Poland.
