Shock poll: Even Republicans agree Donald Trump should quit if his health deteriorates

An exclusive poll has found that the overwhelming majority of US voters believe that President Trump should resign if his health ‘deteriorates significantly’

The vast majority of Republicans, along with Democrats and Independents, believe U.S. President Donald Trump should step down if his health “deteriorates significantly,” according to an exclusive poll.

Of the 1,300 likely voters who took part in the Democracy Institute survey after Labor Day weekend, an overwhelming majority (72%) indicated the president should resign if his health worsens.

Nevertheless, a quarter (25%) dismissed this stance and 3% stayed undecided. The news comes as Trump was left speechless when asked about death rumours.

The startling poll emerges as a bombshell survey reveals what Brits really think of Nigel Farage – bad news for Starmer.

While survey participants largely concurred on whether the president should quit should his health decline, there exists a fairly stark divide amongst political parties regarding whether the president’s mental and physical state presents any cause for alarm whatsoever, reports the Express.

The White House was compelled to address health concerns after troubling photographs surfaced showing his swollen ankles and bruised hand, reports the Express US.

It emerged that the president had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a largely harmless condition where blood struggles to flow to the hands and feet, though complications can develop, reports the Mirror US.

The White House insists that the president remains in “excellent” health. When broken down by political party affiliation, 58% of Republican voters expressed concern about Trump’s health, while 35% disagreed and 8% were unsure.

In contrast, a staggering 94% of Democratic voters voiced concern, with only 2% disagreeing and 4% uncertain. Among Independent voters, 76% said they were worried, 23% disagreed and 1% were unsure.

However, these poll results don’t necessarily indicate that a significant number of Americans are worried about Trump’s health. When asked if they were “concerned about President Trump’s health,” the majority (49%) said no, compared to 41% who expressed concern and 10% who remained undecided.

The divide in responses based on political party affiliation is strikingly clear. A large majority of Democratic supporters (81%) expressed concern about Trump’s health, while 17% did not and 2% were undecided.

On the other hand, only 15% of Republican supporters indicated they were worried about Trump’s health, with a whopping 83% saying they were not. Only 2% were unsure.

Independent voters fell somewhere in between, with the majority (47%) saying they were not worried, compared to 35% who were and 18% who remained undecided. The partisan divide deepened further when respondents were asked whether they believed the White House was hiding information about the president’s health.

A staggering 91% of Democratic voters expressed fears about a potential cover-up, while only 4% of Republican voters held this belief.

Just 38% of Independent voters shared these concerns.

Recent weeks have seen countless unverified allegations surface regarding the president’s health, though the White House insists the president remains in “excellent” condition.

A significant number of Democratic voters along with a substantial portion of Independent voters hold worries about Trump’s wellbeing, while Republicans largely reject such claims.

An extraordinary 89% of Democratic voters and over one-third (36%) of Independent voters believe Trump is experiencing cognitive decline.

The vast majority of Republicans (91%) dismiss these allegations.

Overall, most respondents (47%) do not believe the president is suffering from mental deterioration.

The matter of ageing politicians has become a growing concern among voters following allegations of a cover-up regarding former President Biden’s health decline.

Since November 2022, at least eight individuals of advanced age have passed away whilst in office.

President Trump holds the record as the oldest person to be sworn in as president at 78 years of age, following former President Biden, who was also 78 when he took office.

Trump is currently 79.
