Shocking moment courier seen on camera launching parcels into back of van

The delivery driver was seen launching packages into the back of a white Ford Transit – one parcel almost tumbled back out after being flung into the already crammed van

This is the moment a courier was seen on camera hurling parcels into the back of a van.

Wearing a bright fluorescent vest, the delivery driver was seen aunching packages into the back of a white Ford Transit. One parcel almost tumbled back out after being flung into the already crammed van.

It’s not known which firm the man worked for — but stunned onlookers couldn’t believe what they were seeing. “The worker was taking liberties with the parcels,” one witness said. “He didn’t seem to care. Me and my mate couldn’t believe it.”

Locals were equally shocked by the careless courier, who was spotted parked on Camden High Street in north London.

One said: “Hmm, what’s that? Oh a laptop.” And another warned: “Believe me you don’t want to see how people fill the trucks with your packages.”

It comes after an Evri driver was caught casually throwing parcels around on CCTV. The incident happened outside homes in the village of St Stephen, near St Austell in Cornwall.

In the shocking clip, two men were seen pulling up in a red van on the side of a residential road. One of them then dropped a large parcel onto a front lawn.

Then a second man opened the back of the delivery vehicle and two items fell out onto the road before they began to carelessly throw more packages on top of them.

One Evri delivery man even pushed a parcel out of the way with his foot. Emma Morton, who recorded the footage from her home, said she witnessed the incident as she waited for her parcels.

Emma noted that her usual Evri driver had been away on holiday at the time of the delivery and that the pair of men had been covering the round of deliveries on that particular day. She also claimed one of the delivery drivers was rude to her when she stepped out and spoke to them over the chaos they had been causing.

She said: “I was annoyed more than anything else. Luckily, my parcels weren’t damaged. One of them was a couch roll so that couldn’t really be broken but the other one was a beauty box which could have easily been broken. [One of the men] was so rude to me after I went out to speak to them.

“He asked what my problem was and if my parcel was damaged but I said I didn’t know. It was just the chaos of it when I was watching them and the disrespect of him when I spoke to him about it.”

A spokesperson for Evri has since said the behaviour of the courier in question does not reflect the company’s high standards. They added he will no longer be working for the company.

They said: “Every parcel matters to us, and this behaviour does not reflect the high standards we usually see from the vast majority of our couriers.

“We have investigated the matter and the courier in question, who was providing temporary cover on this day, will no longer be delivering on behalf of Evri.”
