Shocking moment huge brawl breaks out on Ryanair flight over child screaming

By staff13 August 2025No Comments2 Mins Read

Police were called to the Ryanair plane yesterday evening after it arrived following a reported brawl involving two passengers on board – footage taken on board showed the mayhem

Footage captured the moment a huge brawl broke out on board a packed Ryanair flight over a screaming child.

Police were called onto the aircraft as it landed in Lisbon from London Stansted yesterday evening following reports of a fight between two passengers. In a clip filmed on board the plane, a mum is heard comforting her screaming child amid the chaos, saying: “It’s okay, we’re going now”.

Portuguese TV station SIC, which published footage of the mayhem aboard the plane, said the conflict began earlier on the flight when a youngster began crying.

It added: “Tempers only flared when the plane landed in Lisbon and headed for the gate. Police were called to deal with the incident. Because of the altercation, all the passengers ended up being held on the plane for about an hour.” It comes after a plane passenger punches flight attendant after she makes simple request.

It was not immediately clear if any arrests had been made.

The footage of the situation on board the plane showed there was lots of shouting – and one man appeared to restrain another in front of the mum trying to console her young child. A man beside the female passenger could be overheard saying: “Yes we arrive now.”

Ryanair and Portugal’s PSP police force, which is said to have sent officers to the plane at the request of its pilot, have been contacted for comment. The problems are believed to have occurred on board Ryanair flight FR1882, which left London Stansted at just after 4pm local time and reached Lisbon at 7.15pm half an hour past its scheduled arrival time.

The Mirror has contacted Ryanair for comment.

Earlier this summer, a pilot fainted in the cockpit during a service from Barcelona to Porto, according to a source from the National Institute of medical Emergencies.

At 8:19 am on Sunday, August 10, the pilot suffered “a rapidly recovering syncope” and “apparently recovered during the flight,” the publication reported.
