As summer nears, there’s still time to get our wardrobes ready for the balmy temperatures. Next currently sells a pair of linen trousers that’s a must-have this season, according to shoppers. Fans have been heaping praise on the ‘perfect’ item online.

Costing £34, the Tie Waist Wide Leg Linen Blend Trousers are available in blue, navy, white, pink and two different patterned options – including a striking palm print. The bottoms come in a range of sizes – but some are already sold out – and in regular or petite lengths.

What makes these trousers a popular choice for the warmer days is the breathable, light linen-blend fabric they are made from. An elasticated waistband with tie fastening makes the fit easy to adjust, plus there are both side and rear pockets for small essentials. We’re also huge fans of the breezy wide-leg silhouette.

There are other retailers offering the same style of trousers, including Roman. The popular retailer’s Full Length Linen Blend Trousers, £30, come in stone, green and black. Fans have raved about their ‘good quality’ and ‘comfortable’ fit, but one shopper did point out that they had to buy a ‘size smaller’.

Or, for those who don’t mind splurging, Nobody’s Child has an ‘in demand’ linen style selling fast on its website. At £65, the White Linen-blend Shona Trousers have a figure-skimming wide leg cut and drawstring waist. They also feature side pockets like Next’s offering.

Reviews have been pouring in for different colourways of the Next linen trousers, with many customers praising their versatility and ‘flattering’ shape. One five-star comment on the Black Palm print reads: “Lovely trousers, a good fit, not too long as I am only 5ft 4 inches. You can dress them up or down, definitely recommend.”

Another person wrote: “Beautiful trousers, flattering, comfortable soft feel and feminine. The high waist is so easy and holds its shape well. Love them.”

In a positive review of the blue version, someone else said: “Great pair of cool comfortable linen trousers for the summer. Wash nice and no shrinkage. Good value for money.”

Cut from a lightweight linen-blend fabric, these wide-leg trousers are ideal for holidays and more this summer. They have an elasticated waistband with an adjustable tie fastening, plus side and rear pockets.

It’s worth noting that some shoppers pointed out sizing issues. Giving the trousers a three-star rating, one wrote: “Love the pattern and colours. However. I am size 16. Far too large. Bought 14, still too large. “

Another added: “Good fabric for Summer. Very wide trousers, did not suit me so returned.”

The Tie Waist Wide Leg Linen Blend Trousers are available for £34 on Next.
