Whitney Adebayo is one of the contestants who has entered the Sidemen’s Inside house.
The Sidemen, YouTube’s heavyweight crew, have dropped the much-anticipated second season of their adrenaline-fueled reality series, Inside.
Streaming on Netflix from today (March 17), Inside throws a bunch of influencers into one house where they’ll battle it out for a whopping £1 million prize pot.
Over the course of seven days, the contestants will face various challenges and try to avoid being booted out daily.
But there’s a catch – every choice the housemates make could chip away at that juicy final prize. Even splurging on luxury items like coffee from the in-house shop, where prices are sky-high, can cost them dearly.
This season features Whitney Adebayo, who captured hearts nationwide during her stint on Love Island.
Love Island fame
Whitney, 27, graced our screens in the Love Island 2023 summer series, charming her way to the finals with her beau Lochan Nowacki, reports OK!
The lovebirds are still an item, melting hearts with their adorable Instagram updates.
On Valentine’s Day, Whitney shared a snap cradling a bunch of roses, alongside a swoon-worthy caption: “To my man my man, thank you for giving me my 2012 Tumblr vision board. I waited 27 years for this but ohhh God won’t he do it!”
Life after ITV stint
Since her Love Island adventure, Whitney hasn’t slowed down a bit.
She’s now the voice behind a buzzing weekly podcast titled What’s It Giving?, co-hosted with her sister Lizzy. The show has already seen a star-studded lineup grace its episodes, including Love Island alumni Scott van-der-Sluis, Tanya Manhenga, and Kaz Kamwi.
The 27-year-old telly personality isn’t just lighting up screens; she’s also a lifestyle guru with a solid following on YouTube, Instagram and TikTok – to the tune of over a million fans.
TikTok Backlash
But it wasn’t all smooth sailing for Whitney when an excerpt from her podcast caused quite the stir online. In an early March upload, she declared her intent to lean into her ‘feminine era’ and leave behind the ‘Bad B aesthetic.’
She laid out several reasons for her pivot towards femininity, but when she implied that the ‘Bad B aesthetic’, typified by body-con outfits and full-on glam, fails to net worthwhile partners, her audience was less than thrilled.
Critiques flew fast and thick, with one viewer bluntly advising under the clip: “Just be yourself and stop following trends.”
For fans, the disconnect was glaring since Whitney had crooned ‘I can be a baddie and a lady’ on Love Island, a sentiment she proudly displays in her TikTok bio, adding to the betrayal.
However, Whitney has clapped back at the criticism, insisting she’s still exploring what ‘feminine’ means to her. Answering a fan, she clarified: “[…] I’m only human gyal going through life like everyone else.”(sic).
This TikTok snippet picked up almost half a million views and continues to ripple through social media, thanks to reposts on Twitter and Instagram.
Episode 1 of Inside by the Sidemen is streaming now on Netflix.
