‘Silent epidemic’ affecting thousands of pets you can help treat with £2 biscuits

By staff16 February 2025No Comments4 Mins Read

Dental disease is a common problem in the cat world, with as many as 80% of cats over three years old showing signs of the condition – but there are simple ways to treat it and keep your cat happy

When it comes to feeling under the weather, our beloved cats are often hard to read, with them retreating to a hiding place or getting more lethargic than usual. And while dental issues may not be that easy to spot, as many as 80% of cats over three years suffer from dental disease, according to Cromwell Vets, and without treatment it can lead to discomfort, tooth loss, and even severe organ problems.

It’s super important to keep on top of your feline friends’ oral health to help prevent silent epidemics like this. But don’t worry, you don’t need to start brushing their teeth every day twice a day, like us.

Fortunately, prevention can be as simple as providing the right treats. An option that has received some high praise from pet owners is Scrumbles’ Krunchies: Cat Dental Treats, as they contain an active ingredient that can reduce plaque by up to 80%.

Don’t worry, this key plaque-fighting ingredient is sodium hexametaphosphate (SHMP), which is perfectly safe for cats, reports Gloucestershire Live.

These treats are available at £2 for a bag, £22.50 for 12, or £44.50 for 24, with a nifty money-saving 25% discount throughout February. Plus, you can save an extra 10% with a subscription for regular deliveries.

These all-natural, sugar-free treats are fortified with gut-friendly algae to aid your kitties’ digestion too.

With a dual-textured design and tasty chicken flavour, these treats are sure to be a hit with your cat. They’re perfect as a treat, mixed into their main meal, or as a reward for good behaviour.

Pet owners have been pleased with the results in their feline friends after using these treats, with one saying: “My cat got a thumbs up from the vet for his teeth and I think these help.”

“Misha loves these treats! Also had a recent visit to the vet and she commented on how good his teeth look! I’m combining the treats with teeth brushing but feel they definitely do help,” gushed one cat owner.

Another chimed in: “Logan loved his treats. He has issues with his teeth, so these are perfect to help him maintain vitamins and he enjoys them too.”

However, some customers have expressed dissatisfaction with the brand’s customer service and delivery, with some taking to Trust Pilot to share their thoughts. One said: “After receiving my trial pack, I heard nothing from Scrumbles until I had an email stating that my first subscription pack was on it’s way and that I had been charged for it,” revealed a three-star reviewer.

“Would have preferred an email enquiring if my dog liked the product and would I like to commence with the subscription.”

That being said, one pleased pet-lover contradicted this and added: “The buying experience was streamlined and effortless from start to delivery and the quality of the food is just the best. My cats won’t eat anything else.”

For those looking for alternative methods to boost their cat’s dental health, there are products like dental sticks going for £3 at Pets at Home as are these Purina Dentalife Cat Dental Treats. Whiskas Dentabites Treats costing only £1.10 per pack at The Range.

However, with a 25% discount throughout February, numerous positive reviews from cat owners, contented feline customers, and an effective ingredient targeting this issue, the Scrumbes Krunchies: Cat Dental Treats are a top notch choice.
