New research from Vosene Kids haircare, which includes headlice-repelling actives, has revealed just how prevalent headlice is—and it’s not only a problem for little ones.

Superdrug, a leading healthcare retailer, has reported a 21.2% surge in sales of its head lice treatment spray and warned of a significant rise in head lice cases. A headlice expert has shared some startling findings and advice to ensure parents aren’t left scratching their heads this new school term.

To help battle and prevent nits this school term, Dr Chris George, GP and Vosene Kids spokesperson, recommends using this £6.80 bundle on Amazon, which includes the Vosene Kids Lice Repellent 3-in-1 Shampoo 250ml & Conditioning Defence Spray.

The Vosene Kids 3-in-1 Shampoo & Conditioner costs £2 at Boots or the same price at supermarkets, including Tesco.

Expert tips for preventing headlice suggest that good hygiene is crucial. Avoid sharing items like brushes, hats, headphones, or towels with others, most especially young children, while at school. Avoiding head-to-head contact during play and social activities can also help reduce the risk. A common recommendation for those with long hair is tying it back in a ponytail, which can help to prevent the transmission of headlice. Parents should also consider doing regular checks, allowing for more effective treatment, especially during school outbreaks.

Vosene Kids offers a 3-in-1 shampoo that cleanses and conditions hair and helps repel head lice. Using this daily product, which is designed to prevent head lice, can be a simple and proactive step against them. The shampoo boasts an effective formula that includes natural repellents such as tea tree oil or eucalyptus, which can help deter headlice.

Using a product like Vosene can help reduce the risk of an infestation, especially during school outbreaks. According to Vosene’s recent survey, 80% of parents said they would use an everyday children’s shampoo or spray with added headlice prevention for their child. However, less than half of parents (42%) have actually used headlice prevention haircare for their child.

This bundle includes the 3-in-1 Lice Repellent Shampoo (250ml) as well as the Conditioning Defence Spray (150ml) for the budget-friendly price of £6.80, making it more affordable than ever to keep your kids protected as the autumn term kicks off.

Other lice treatments that won’t break the bank include this Hedrin Head Lice Treat & Go Mousse, which retails for £13.89 from Superdrug. Or check out this Nitty Gritty Head Lice Defence Spray on Amazon for £15.88.
