‘Beautiful screen that reaches to the edges. Razor-sharp image and yet very quiet…it’s nicer than an iPad’
Have you been on the lookout for a tablet but don’t want to part with hundreds of pounds at once? We’ve scoured the internet for a deal that won’t break the bank – and found one which works out at only £3.50 per month…that’s around 11p per day.
The latest deal falls on the Galaxy Tab A9 LTE – launched in 2023, this budget swing on a tablet comes with an 8.7-inch screen, split-screen multi-tasking, and a decent chip to suit all of your TV screening or work productivity needs. However, Sky has just made the device even more affordable.
Dropping its monthly cost to £3.50 per month the Sky plan now comes with an £84 saving tapped across the full 48-month plan. Despite costing shoppers £219 at the Samsung store (even in its rival £40 off sale), Sky’s only charging shoppers £168 for the device.

That’s £51 cheaper than Samsung’s current sale price or £91 compared to its usual upfront cost at the Galaxy retailer. Amazon doesn’t come close either, with its £99 price tag on the same 64GB model.
It’s certainly the cheapest price we’ve found on an ‘out of the box’ A9 LTE tablet. However, Sky customers will have to pick a data deal to go alongside it – a slight gripe to the eye-catching cheap tablet deal.
The current cheapest is the 3GB data plan (with a choice of SIM or ESIM), which is reduced from £10 to £6 per month – on a minimum 12-month contract. This brings the total Sky plan to £9.50 a month…but remember, you don’t have to carry the data along the full 48-month contract.
Why the Galaxy Tab A9?
Among Sky’s flurry of deals it’s currently the cheapest per month – sitting alongside other options like the 11-inch Apple iPad Air (2024) for £17 per month or Samsung’s higher end Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra tablet at £30 per month.
For the price, it’s also considered to be a sturdy day-to-day tablet with features that don’t scrimp on quality. As it launched, Samsung described it as something for ‘everyday entertainment and productivity in a portable package’.
This is also reflected by the majority of users, as one shopper said: “Really a great and super nice tablet. AI functions work well and the camera works particularly well for a tablet.”
While another Samsung shopper said: “Beautiful screen that reaches to the edges. Razor-sharp image and yet very quiet, reads super fine. A great gift with my phone, even nicer than an ipad.”
Another shopper shared how they thought the ‘size of the tablet was good and handy’ however, the image quality wasn’t good enough for them. As they said: “The brightness is difficult to fix.”
