Apple may have launched new AirPods 4 and AirMax 2 but this deal on an old pair is too cheap to beat
It’s been a mighty week for Apple as it unveiled its brand new iPhone 16 range, with four dazzling handsets. Alongside the new mobiles, Apple has dropped a brand new pair of AirPods but a rare deal may convince fans to stick with an older pair.
It’s all thanks to Sky Mobile who have dropped the price of the AirPods (2nd Generation) to an eye-wateringly low price. Only £4 per month to be exact, a cost which may sway shoppers to picking the older pair.
Usually priced way over £120, the Sky Mobile contract offers a more affordable way for shoppers to get their hands on the earphones, at a reasonable pay-per-month price. At £4 per month, this works out to be pennies a day.

Set across a 36-month contract this comes to a total of £144, £20 more than buying the pair outright but it means shoppers won’t need to splurge the full amount upfront. Of course picking the 2nd Generation AirPod pair will come with some dated features but the solid audio quality, connectivity, and reliable battery life make them a popular choice.
If you did want to wait for the newer model pre-orders then here’s what you’d need to know. The new iPhone 16 line-up has been complemented by the snazzy AirPods 4 with its open-ear design and the choice to pick the more advanced Active Noise Cancellation pair too.
An upgrade from the second and third-generation Apple bringing onboard active noise cancellation and transparency modes to the mid-range wireless earbuds. As well as the new AirPod Max pair Sonos is proving to be popular this week thanks to a wave of discounts.
In fact, a rare deal could convince shoppers to ditch Bose and Sony for good, says The Express tech editor Dave Snelling. As he pointed out: “When they first went on sale they would have set you back a whopping £449 but a new deal from Amazon has slashed that cost to just £367.98 – that’s an 18 per cent saving.”
