Sky Sports presenter Anna Woolhouse has revealed that she recently underwent surgery and took to her Instagram to share an update from hospital with her loyal fans
Sky Sports presenter Anna Woolhouse has revealed that she’s had “quite the ride” in the last week after undergoing her second laparoscopic surgery for endometriosis. The star, 41, took to her Instagram to share a selfie she taken in her hospital bed as she gave the camera an enthusiastic thumbs up.
Along with the selfie, she told fans the “comeback is always greater than the setback” and wrote: “It’s been quite the ride the past 7 days. Last week I had my second laparoscopic surgery for endometriosis in 7 years, it was done by the surgeon controlling a robot which blows my mind (avoid slide 2 if you’re squeamish!) it ended up being a slightly chunkier op than I’d bargained for but all ok in the end.

“March was endometriosis awareness month, I know I’m a couple of days late, but it’s important to still shine a light on condition that still isn’t known or spoken about nearly enough.
“It is a condition that affects 1 in 10 women and for so many even getting a diagnosis is a long, emotional and painful process and can be incredibly debilitating to live with.”
Slide two was a picture of her midriff area covered in bloody bandages. She also included a photo of her iPad where she was watching Married At First Sight Australia.
She revealed she was first diagnosed with endometriosis in 2017 after attending numerous GP appointments. A year later, she had her first surgery which helped improve her symptoms for a long while.
Anna continued: “It came back and in recent years has resulted in some heartbreaking blows and ultimately meant having another surgery, really hoping this will be it.
“Thank you to the brilliant staff @cromwellhospital for looking after me & thank god for MAFS on my iPad (don’t judge!) Sending love to anyone who has endometriosis or if you are on the long path to a diagnosis don’t give up.“For me it’s time to rest and recoup & take some steady walks in the sunshine, so grateful for that. I might be ‘off games’ for a couple of weeks but I’ll be back wearing dodgy odd socks and trainers in no time.”
Her friends and fans immediately sent their well wishes in the comment section, with Laura Woods writing: “Oh my love. Sending lots of love,” and David Jones posting: “Sending love Anna.”
Natalie Pinkham said: “Sending love and healing hugs my darling,” and one fan commented: “Hope you’re back firing on all cylinders soon Anna. Take care beautiful.”
As said on the NHS website, “endometriosis is where cells similar to those in the lining of the womb (uterus) grow in other parts of the body.”
Symptoms of endometriosis include severe period pain, heavy periods, pain when using the toilet, pain in the pelvic area, extreme tiredness, shortness of breath and more.
There are a number of treatments for endometriosis such as medicines, surgery, and birth control to help ease the pain.
