Google is set to unveil the new Pixel 10 series at the Made By Google Event in August, but Sky Mobile’s deal on the Pixel 9a may be tempting
Google is weeks away from unveiling the latest addition to its Pixel smartphone series, but we’ve found a deal on its latest model that may be too good to pass up. The tech giant is set to showcase the Pixel 10 at its annual Made By Google Event in New York City on August 20, where we’re expecting to catch a first glimpse of the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 XL and Pixel 10 Pro Fold.
But even as the launch looms, Google’s latest smartphone is proving as popular as ever at one particular retailer. Over at Sky Mobile, the Pixel 9a has been highlighted as an ‘in-demand’ product as shoppers snap up the budget-friendly £13 package.
This model first hit the market in April, designed as an affordable version of the standard Pixel 9. But despite its cheaper price, the 9a is packed with premium features, including Artificial Intelligence (AI) functions with Google Gemini and an IP68 dust and water resistance rating.

It also boasts a Tensor processor, which Google says is powered by its ‘fastest, most efficient chip’ ever. Google also says it provides the ‘best battery life of any Pixel’ with more than 30 hours of runtime.
The Pixel 9a comes on a 36-month contract, but customers have the option to upgrade their handset after 24 months if they wish. Shoppers should also note the £13 monthly price only covers the handset and must be taken alongside a Sky data plan.

Sky Mobile is offering the Google Pixel 9a for £13 when spreading the cost alongside a Sky data plan.
These range from £0 for 100MB through to £20 for unlimited data. Sky isn’t the only brand to offer an affordable entry into the Pixel range, with Amazon reducing the phone from £499 to £429 when buying outright.
There’s also a selection of freebies available when ordering through Currys-backed retailer Mobiles.co.uk, with select packages coming with Google Buds A Series, Pixel Buds Pro 2 or a Pixel Watch 3. A decent option is iD Mobile’s £18.99 per month plan with £49 upfront, which provides 100GB of data and inclusive roaming in 50 destinations.
Shoppers who already got their hands on the Pixel 9a have left hundreds of positive reviews on Amazon, with one saying: “The cheaper affordable Pixel just got better. The perfect size at 6.3” and all the benefits of Pixel in a cheaper package. Great display, bigger battery, good cameras, smooth and responsive. Great phone.”
Another says: “A lot of phone for the money. This has been virtually flawless, it has a solid construction similar to an iPhone and a clean clutter-free OS with no bloatware. One plus is having both a finger print scanner and a Face ID equivalent. Yes, it does have a plastic back, but it feels premium.”
Not everyone is sold on the Pixel 9a, as this mixed review says: “Battery life is good, size is alright but the bezels are quite big. It’s a decent price but one issue is the Bluetooth keeps reconnecting randomly which is frustrating as someone that uses Bluetooth earphones all the time.”
While another five-star review says: “The design is clean and feels good in the hand. Performance is fast and smooth, with enough power for daily use and multitasking. The camera is impressive, especially with features like Macro Focus and the ‘Add Me’ option for group photos.
“Battery life is solid and easily lasts all day, and I like that it’s made with recycled materials. It’s not perfect, but for the price, it’s a great Android phone.”
