Gary Oldman and Jack Lowden go up against The Lord of the Rings star Hugo Weaving in the latest instalment of the Apple TV+ spy series

The season four premiere of Slow Horses has left fans ‘blown away’, with some calling for Gary Oldman to win ‘all the awards’ for his performance. Available to stream now, Apple TV+’s black comedy spy drama stars the Oscar-winner as the leader of a team of British intelligence rejects cast out to the MI5 dumping ground of Slough House.

Season four debuted on the streaming platform on Wednesday (September 4), opening with a deadly car bomb that detonates personal secrets, rocking Slough House’s already unstable foundations. The series is based on the award-winning novels by British author Mick Herron, with the new season adapted from the fourth in the book series, Spook Street.

Apple TV+ has already announced a fifth season is in the works, to be adapted from Herron’s fifth novel, London Rules. Slow Horses is available to stream on Apple TV+, which TV lovers can join for £8.99 a month.
