Stacey Solomon has unveiled the result of the spring makeover that she gave Pickle Cottage recently, with her having introduced decorations as part of a colourful display
Presenter Stacey Solomon gave the front of Pickle Cottage a spring makeover recently. She unveiled the transformation at the property this week whilst sharing her plans for further renovation at her family’s home later in the year.
The Sort Your Life Out host, 35, is known for her various DIY projects – which have included creating a floral wreath – and often posts about her own home in Essex. She shared an update on the property, where she lives with her family, including her husband Joe Swash, with fans on Thursday.
Stacey revealed that she would be renovating the front door for spring. It began without any decorations but through the makeover Stacey introduced flowers and ornaments of rabbits as part of a colourful display at Pickle Cottage.
The Loose Women star documented the project on her Instagram Story. Once she had finished, Stacey uploaded a video that showcased the new look of the front door and teased that it “will get better” when more flowers bloom.
Speaking about the display – which included a wreath of what appeared to be colourful Easter egg decorations – Stacey suggested to her followers that it was “au naturale”. She added that the flowers themselves were “beautiful”.
She said in the video: “There we have it. Just a little au naturale kind of spring door display. You have to trust the process. This isn’t it in full bloom obviously cause they’re gonna bush out. They’re so beautiful these flowers, look!”
Giving a close-up of one flower, she continued: “They’re all gonna look like this. How pretty is that? So they’re gonna be all flowery. And also the lady said they don’t mind being in a pot. I might just have to get bigger pots in a couple of years and they’ll just keep bushing and bushing.”
She went on to share her plans for a different display at the entrance to the property for autumn. Stacey explained to fans on the platform that she hopes to build a steel arch across the door and grow pumpkins over it.
Stacey said: “So this will forever be my spring door and then what I’m hoping is in the autumn I’m gonna build an archway across the door like a solid steel arch. And I’m gonna grow my pumpkins over the arch so I’m gonna literally from seed grow my autumn door which I’m very excited about.”
She told her followers: “So this will now be my summer, spring summer door. And then I’ll grow my autumn door.” She continued: “But yeah, here she is in all her glory. Well, almost all her glory. To be continued. It’s gonna get better.”
The Stacey & Joe star wrote in a caption over the footage, beside laughing emojis, that “it’s a door in process”. She also said in the post this week: “I’m hoping it will get better as it blooms and better again as the years go on & can’t wait to try & grow my own autumn door from seed this year.”
