Presenter Stacey Solomon announced that her family had some new arrivals at Pickle Cottage earlier this week, with the Loose Women star having posted about the experience
TV presenter Stacey Solomon was met with reaction over some new additions at Pickle Cottage earlier this week. She announced on social media recently that her family had expanded alongside footage of a “special” experience.
Stacey, 35, lives at the home in Essex with her husband Joe Swash, 41, and their children. The family includes several animals, including two ducks, and the Loose Women star has revealed that they now also have chicks at the property.
She posted footage of eggs hatching in an incubator on her Instagram page yesterday. Stacey shared in the caption of the post that four chicks have hatched so far and told her followers that it had been like “watching real life magic”.
The video – which was set to Ellie Goulding’s version of How Long Will I Love You? – showed several chicks hatching from their eggs. Stacey and her family were seen watching the incubator, which appeared to be in their kitchen.
Alongside the footage, she wrote: “New life at pickle cottage. Honestly this has been the most special, core memory building day. Our chicks have started to hatch it’s like watching real life magic & I’m so glad we decided to do this.”
The Sort Your Life Out host added: “What a special day. 4 chicks & counting. Come on babies. Happy Tuesday Everyone… I hope this brightens up your day.” She also thanked someone in the post for “helping” her family “every single step of the way”.
Stacey’s post has amassed more than 160,000 likes on the platform since it was uploaded and many fans expressed their excitement over the video in the comments section. One person wrote: “Omg. I need to come over and see them.”
Another fan said: “Aww so cute! Welcome to Pickle Cottage little ones.” Someone else reacted to the post: “It’s the best feeling watching your own chicks hatch that you’ve nurtured for 3 weeks making sure they’re warm enough in the incubator. Happy hatch day Stacey they’re gorgeous.”
Sharing their thoughts, one person commented: “This is so magical.” Another fan said in their response: “How cute.” Whilst someone else wrote in a message to Stacey over the news: “This is so exciting! Welcome to Pickle Cottage chicks!”
One fan wrote: “We hatched a chick and a duck a few years, such a fab thing to do and great memories. They do grow so quickly.” Someone else said in the comments section this week: “Can’t stop watching it!!! How beautiful.”
Although many fans loved the content, not everyone appeared to feel the same, with some fans expressing concern. A number of people questioned why the chicks were hatching in an incubator without their mother with them.
One person wrote: “Lovely for the children to watch but so sad and unnatural for the chicks. They should have their mum.” Another said: “Sorry don’t like this and your kids should be taught better, this is not natural and this is where we let the younger generation down, these chicks should be hatching with their mum.”
Another fan said: “This is just sad been hatched into that thing, they should be with the mother [and] that’s who they should see first not a bunch of kids gazing through a glass dome.” Someone wrote: “Where is [their] mum? I can’t help but feel sorry for them being born in an incubator with no mother.”
