You know it’s autumn when Starbucks announces the Pumpkin Spice Latte is back, but this year there’s a new addition to the menu which fans can’t wait to try – and it looks seriously good
Autumn is officially here, because Starbucks has finally launched its Pumpkin Spice menu – and this time there’s a new addition which fans can’t wait to try. Starbucks fans patiently wait for the launch of this autumnal flavour every year.
“Tell us when!!! Been refreshing all day as [it was released on August] the 22nd last year!” said one keen fan on Instagram. “Everyone told me it would be August 26. I even put it down on my calendar. Woke up this morning and it’s not even there. Give us PSL [Pumpkin Spice Latte] now please,” said another.
Now the wait is finally over, and it’s officially time to get your jumpers out, go for a walk among the fallen leaves, and sip the iconic beverage.
For those who haven’t tried it yet, a Pumpkin Spice Latte is “handcrafted with signature espresso combined with a Pumpkin Spice flavour sauce and steamed milk which is then topped with whipped cream and a spice blend of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and cloves”. This autumnal classic has been available for Starbucks Rewards members since August 28, but from September 4 the full range will be available for everyone.
And that’s not all, because as well as a range of other returning Pumpkin Spice drinks, there will be a brand new item on the menu which fans can’t wait to try – the Pumpkin Spice Caramel Macchiato, which also comes iced.
Sam Henderson, Group Manager of Beverage Development for Starbucks EMEA explained: “The original Starbucks Caramel Macchiato introduced a new way to enjoy layered coffee back in 1966, and this new creation builds on those textures and notes, using our iconic Pumpkin Spice flavour to add a twist to a familiar favourite.”
The drink is made with “steamed milk with Pumpkin Spice flavour sauce blended with signature espresso and finished with caramel drizzle and a spice blend of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and cloves”.
Various Starbucks chains have showed how they make the drink on social media, and it’s clear fans can’t wait to try it. Described as “autumn in a cup”, fans say it “looks so good”.
The PSL Latte and PSL Caramel Macchiato can both be purchased as iced versions, and there’s also another cold drink fans can get their hands on – the Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino. The description reads: “Pumpkin Spice flavour sauce is blended with coffee, milk and ice, then topped with whipped cream and a spice blend of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and cloves.”
Starbucks Rewards members can get their hands on the Pumpkin Spice menu now, and it will be available to all customers from September 4.
