Thomas Skinner introduced his Strictly Come Dancing partner, Amy Dowden, to his wife and children as she joined them for dinner at the family home this week
Amy Dowden has been given the seal of approval from Thomas Skinner’s wife and children. The Strictly Come Dancing professional is currently partnered with the controversial reality star and businessman on the 23rd series of the BBC competition.
But while Thomas’ appearance on the show has sparked fierce conversations, Amy appears to be putting these behind her and enjoyed some quality time with Thomas’ wife, Sinead and their children. The 34-year-old took to social media to reveal that the Welsh dancer headed to his family home in Essex for dinner and downtime.
In view of his 712,000 followers on Instagram, Thomas and Amy were seen practising their moves in the kitchen and living area of his house before Amy, 35, got stuck in and played with his three children, while also dancing with his twin daughters.

Amy and Sinead were seen cuddled up to his children, son Henry, five, and daughters, Roma and Dalia, two, on the sofa before tucking into their dinner. Captioning his post, Thomas penned: “Happy Tuesday you lovely people! Had my lovely Strictly partner @amy_dowden come over and meet my little family after we finished training today.
“My Kids absolutely LOVE Amy. She is so good with them, they love her to bits. Bless them. Sinéad made us a double lovely dinner and they are gonna be friends for life. So glad we got introduced to this little Welsh superstar, she is fantastic. Back to training tomorrow morning.”
Thomas went on to make a vow to Amy, adding: “I am not letting Amy down, I am gonna work so hard and can’t wait for you to all see my live dance this Saturday night. Also absolutely gutted that my little mate @danidyerxx has had to pull out due to an injury today. Wishing you all a wonderful evening. Sending love to you and ya families. Keep on going. Bosh.”
Amy replied to Thomas’ post, writing: “Lovely evening, thank you,” alongside a string of emojis, including a purple heart. His upload, which has been liked over 22,000 times, was soon flooded with messages of support for the pair.
One fan wrote: “Aw isn’t Amy just the sweetest with her partners families. Must make you feel much more comfortable being partnered with Amy. Can’t wait to see all your hard work at the weekend! Good luck.”
“Amy playing with your kids in the 4th pic is so incredibly wholesome oh my gosh,” commented a second. Meanwhile, a third penned: “Amy is so lovely and the girls have obviously really taken to her. Great photos.” “How lovely for your children,” added another.
Earlier today, we revealed that Thomas is causing the BBC a colossal headache, and he won’t be voted off first. Despite his often explosive and controversial social media posts, bosses behind the show admit they cannot control what he shares online.
Meanwhile, it’s expected he will go a long way on the show as fans often back troublemakers, while Amy’s fierce fanbase will rally behind the pair. One source said: “It’s a tricky one, he’s not BBC staff so there is nothing that can be done about his social media posts other than ask his management to have a gentle word, and they might not want to.
“And because the public tends to like controversial figures, at least at the start, the feeling is he’s unlikely to be among the first to go, and could actually stay in for quite a stretch. Amy has a lot of love behind her and that is sure to help him.”
Most recently, he admitted to cheating on his wife Sinead, just weeks after the pair said “I do”. The businessman met with a woman at a pub when she offered him “cosmetic slimming treatments” before they engaged in a two-week fling back in May 2022.
He later said that his wife and children are the best thing to have happened to him, leaving him filled with guilt after cheating with Amy-Lucy O’Rourke. “I’m so lucky she forgave me,” he said of his wife.
