Superdrug launches ‘most affordable’ Botox in a bottle peptide skincare at £18

By staff8 April 2025No Comments4 Mins Read

Skincare containing peptides is currently going viral for its line-smoothing benefits, and Superdrug has just launched its own, labelled the most affordable on the high street

If there’s one beauty phrase that we’re seeing everywhere at the moment, it’s ‘Botox in a bottle’. While not actually a real thing (no topical product can freeze muscles and eradicate lines like the injectable), it’s often used at the moment to refer to skincare products that contain hero ingredient peptides, which can help to firm, smooth and strengthen the skin.

New peptide-based serums such as Medik8 Liquid Peptides Advanced MP and Skinceuticals P-TIOX Peptide Serum are currently flying off the shelves, but they aren’t the cheapest. However, Superdrug has just launched a new range of peptide-based skincare products that deliver results in four weeks – and for a fraction of the cost.

Following on from the success of Superdrug’s Optimum Collagen Night Cream – which had shoppers being asked if they’d had Botox after using it – the high street store has introduced its new Optimum Peptide range, consisting of a Day Cream SPF50, Night Cream and Serum. Priced at £18 each, they’re markedly cheaper than other peptide products on the market – and, even better, they’re currently in a ‘buy one, get one free’ deal online.

Serums usually contain a more potent concentration of ingredients, so if you were going to by just one product, we’d probably recommend starting with the Superdrug Optimum Peptide Serum. Superdrug’s tests showed that 84% of users noticed plumper skin after four weeks of using this and 87% said their skin felt smoother, with shoppers calling it a “great serum for a refreshed glowy complexion.”

Packed with peptides, which can help to boost collagen, smooth fine lines and plump the skin.

However, as you’re getting one free, you’d be mad not to add another product from the range to your basket. Optimum Peptide Day Cream SPF50 gets our vote for not only containing peptides but also a high factor SPF, with one shopper noting “a huge difference” in their skin after using it for 27 days, with “fine lines…less noticeable around my mouth and undereye area”.

To complete your anti-ageing skincare routine, use the Optimum Peptide Night Cream in the evenings. This had 85% of testers reporting brighter looking skin after four weeks, as well as looking “smoother, firmer and glowy”. And if you want all three products, you can buy them all in a bundle for £36 instead of their usual £54.

If you’re looking for a more advanced option, however, then Medik8’s new Liquid Peptides Advanced MP, £79, comes with the backing of dermatologists and some impressive clinical trials; you can read my full review of it here. Another option is Naturium Multi-Peptide Advanced Serum, a little cheaper at £27.
