Hours after Taylor Swift endorsed Kamala Harris’ presidential bid, the Vice President unveiled Harris-Walz friendship bracelets seemingly inspired by the singer’s fans
Kamala Harris supporters can now get their hands on Harris-Walz friendship bracelets and Taylor Swift fans are loving it.
Presidential nominee Kamala Harris unveiled the bracelets on her website hours after the singer publicly endorsed her in a hotly-anticipated Instagram post.
Making her intentions clear, the Eras Tour singer told her 283 million followers: “I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them.”
Swift shared her post shortly after Vice President Harris’ first debate against ex-President Donald Trump, and the news was well received by Harris’ camp, who were quick to celebrate the vote of confidence.
Now, her team has launched merchandise seemingly inspired by Swift’s fans, who popularised friendship bracelets during the singer’s Eras Tour.
The bracelets are available to preorder on the Harris Walz official store, and they cost $20 for a pack of two. “Are you ready for it? Harris-Walz friendship bracelets are here!” reads the description, in a nod to Swift’s ‘Reputation’ hit ‘…Ready For It?’
Already the bracelets have drummed up lots of attention on social media, with Swifties on X praising the move. One impressed fan said: “Beautiful stuff. Getting mine asap!” A second joked: “Very mindful.” Another commented: “Did I already order these? You know it buddy,” and a different fan revealed: “Ordered immediately.”
The quick turnaround between Swift’s announcement and Kamala’s merch drop lead people to speculate Harris’ team knew Swift was likely to endorse her Presidential campaign.
“The Taylor announcement was planned tonight and it was brilliant marketing,” someone claimed. Elsewhere, a fan said: “It’s almost like Taylor is the best in her field and works with extremely savvy people to launch the perfect media communication in the right place and time.” Or as someone speculated: “They were ready for it.”
