Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce has proposed to Taylor Swift and it’s said that he helped to design the engagement ring that the Grammy Award winner is now sporting
Travis Kelce is said to have helped design the engagement ring now worn by his fiancée, Taylor Swift. The couple have just announced that they have got engaged, with the Kansas City Chiefs player having proposed in a garden.
Travis and Taylor, both 35, shared the news with their respective followers in a joint post on Instagram today. It included photos of the couple celebrating together, giving fans a glimpse into the proposal and showcasing the diamond ring.
In the caption of the post, beside a TNT emoji, they wrote on the platform: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.” The post also included Taylor’s song So High School, which was featured on her last album, The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology, released last year.
One photo shared by the couple gave a close-up of the ring itself. The engagement jewellery features a silver diamond on a gold band. It was seen sparkling on Taylor’s finger as she held hands with her fiancé Travis in the photo.
It’s been reported that Travis helped to design the engagement ring, which is said to be of the old mine brilliant cut style. TMZ reports that it’s learned that the jewellery was created by Kindred Lubeck, with sources saying that the jeweller worked with groom-to-be Travis on the design.
There’s already speculation about how many carats the diamond boasts, though details have yet to be confirmed. Daniela Tarantino, VP of Merchandising of James Allen and Blue Nile, told Marie Claire: “Taylor Swift’s gorgeous ring is likely a unique cut just for her, but to our eye it looks similar to an elongated modified cushion. We estimate it’s somewhere between 10–15 carats total, set on a yellow gold band.”
