Teen denies manslaughter after woman, 25, plunges to death from block of flats

By staff9 October 2025No Comments3 Mins Read

Jaiden Hassan-Agard, 18, has been denied manslaughter as he appeared in court in relation to the death of Tia Langdon, 25 in Southampton

A teenager has denied manslaughter after a 25-year-old woman fell to her death from a block of flats.

Tia Langdon, 25, was found with significant injuries after the horror incident and was airlifted to hospital, but sadly died the next day. Jaiden Hassan-Agard, 18, appeared in court, on Wednesday, in relation to her tragic death. Police arrested the 18-year-old and he was charged with manslaughter, four days after the woman plunged from the flats in Southampton, on August 28.

Police said a second woman had been at the address at the time of Tia’s death.

At Southampton Crown Court yesterday, Hassan-Agard pleaded not guilty to nine charges – these included manslaughter, false imprisonment, actual bodily harm, threatening with an offensive weapon, and making threats to kill Tia.

The 18-year-old, of Southampton, also denied further charges of false imprisonment, threatening with an offensive weapon, making threats to kill, and kidnapping a second woman.

Prosecutor Sarah Jones said: “There will need to be a trial in this case. There is an enormous amount of material in this case.”

Judge William Mousley KC said: “You will have heard the discussions that have taken place. The trial could be heard here, but the decision on that will be made in the future.”

The judge adjourned the case for trial with a provisional starting date of April 7 with a further case management hearing to be held on January 23 and remanded Hassan-Agard in custody until then.

He told the defendant: “This trial could be heard here on April 7 next year but a decision will be made in the near future whether it will be heard in a different court at a different time.

“You will be informed of any change in date. At the moment you are due back here for a further hearing on January 23.”

Hampshire Constabulary said: “As part of our enquiries, we established a man and woman had been at the address with Tia at the time, and our investigation team have been examining the circumstances that led up to Tia’s death.”

At the time of Tia’s death, a Hampshire Police spokesperson said: “Tia’s family are being supported by specialist officers at this time. Officers from our Major Crime Unit continue to investigate the incident.”
