Tenerife holiday home horror as rotting corpses found with ‘signs of violence’

By staff24 May 2025No Comments3 Mins Read

The decomposing bodies of two people, believed to be a couple, have been found at a holiday rental apartment in Tenerife – police also said there were signs of violence

The rotting bodies of two young people, with signs of violence, have been found in horrific discovery at a holiday home in Tenerife.

Spanish police have launched an investigation and said the bodies had become so decomposed that they were unrecognisable. The victims, believed to be a couple, were discovered in a home at the Caledonia Park complex in Costa Adeje, on the south of the island, on Friday afternoon. The pair are thought to be foreign nationals but their identities have not been confirmed.

Cops shared that their dead bodies were found in one of the rooms at the flat and they were alerted to the scene after tourists staying in the complex complained about a bad smell.

Authorities also concerningly confirmed early evidence in their investigation has pointed to it having been a “violent incident”.

It is believed the booking at the holiday home complex was made by a young Italian who wanted to spend a season in Tenerife with a woman, however the nationality and identity of the victims is not known yet.

The victim’s bodies have been transferred for forensic testing at the Institute of Legal Medicine of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. No arrests have been made so far in this case and police have not shared a potential motive or what happened, according to CanarianWeekly.

The area has been sealed off by cops and forensics teams who are desperately gathering information to identify the victims and what happened to them. The investigation into this tragedy is being led by the Judicial Police Brigade of South Tenerife.

These deaths comes just a month after a dead man’s body washed up on the beach of another Spanish holiday hotpot loved by Brits. Police said they found an unidentified body with no ID on it in April.

In a separate incident, a man from Belfast, who was reported missing after he failed to board his flight home, was found “decomposing” under trees on a private property. John George was discovered in the rural area of Rojales in the Costa Blanca area.

His body was also found with stab wounds and the dad-of-two had been shot in the face, as cops later confirmed he was murdered.

The solicitor for John’s family, who is also known by the surname Hardy, said the victim’s dad, Bill George, had received a call from Spanish detectives to inform him that his son’s remains had been found. In a statement, Kevin Winters said: “The family are both distressed, but also relieved at this latest news. It brings to an end an extremely tortuous search process for the body.”
