Shocking footage from a UK shopping centre shows distressed families running for safety after a group of youths raided an Apple Store.
A large number of masked and hooded teenage boys are seen running into the shop in the footage from this afternoon at Brent Cross Shopping Centre in north London, where police said they stole a “large number” of mobile phones before being apprehended. Police said officers “quickly attended” scene at 2.35pm and arrested six teenage boys on suspicion of robbery. The youths, who are all aged between 14 and 18, remained in custody for questioning on Sunday night.
Bosses at Brent Cross Shopping Centre said they were supporting police with their enquiries. A spokesperson added: “The safety of our customers and staff is always our priority.”
A spokesperson from the Metropolitan Police told the Mirror: “Six teenage boys have been arrested following a theft from a shop in Barnet after police arrived quickly at the scene. Police were called at around 14:35hrs on Sunday, 5 January to reports that a group had entered a shop in Brent Cross Shopping Centre before stealing a large number of mobile phones.
“Officers attended and quickly made arrests a short time after the incident was reported to police. The teenagers, all aged between 14-18, were all arrested on suspicion of robbery and taken to custody, where they remain for questioning.”
