Images show teenagers in Australia risking their lives and putting passengers in danger as they broke into a train’s control cabin and then hung off the side of a carriage while it was moving
Teenagers have filmed themselves breaking into a train’s control cabin and hanging off carriages while it was moving.
The reckless youths were seen messing around with the levers on the train which put their lives and those of other travellers in danger. And in other clips they are dangling from train doors for fun.
The video posted onto social media in Australia shows a group of youngsters, wearing black, while in the first carriage and then they kick open the door into the driver’s cabin. They then rush into the compartment and open the emergency exit door as the train passes through a tunnel.
In another clip it shows them fiddling with controls and apparently a horn. Then the video moves onto showing one of the boys hanging off the side of the train and holding onto a rail with just one hand.

There are other similar clips with one showing a daredevil dangling his legs off the back of the train as it heads over the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
It has become an extremely dangerous trend known as buffer riding where people hang onto train carriages while they are moving which appears to be particularly serious in Australia. Police in New South Wales attempted a crackdown on the activity which is thought to be done just to get views and popularity on social media.
Tragically authorities in the state reported in 2023 that 11 people had died from the dangerous and illegal activity over the previous five years, reported news.com.au.
And a representative for Transport for NSW reportedly said: “This type of behaviour is not only illegal, but it is also reckless and extremely dangerous. Buffer riding is life-threatening for those involved and can have deeply traumatic effects on the people around them, and rail workers, if and when something bad happens.
“This risky behaviour has already resulted in serious injuries on the rail network. Sydney Trains work with NSW Police to reduce anti-social behaviour and criminal incidents that occur across our network.”
This latest clip which has gone viral on social media has received more than 22,000 views. But many people have been critical of the youths involved when commenting.
“This is not even funny. This is literally idiotic behaviour. NSW Police should be informed of this Illegal and Dangerous Behaviour,” said one person. “Absolute morons,” said another, and a further wrote: “It won’t be long until one is hurt and fighting for life.”
