Tesco, Aldi and Argos slashing cost of kids toys before Xmas – and you don’t have long

By staff2 September 2025No Comments3 Mins Read

Luckily for parents, many supermarkets and shops launch a big Christmas toy sale before the main event – and you haven’t got long to wait for them to kick off this autumn

Although summer has only just ended, many parents will now be thinking about saving up for Christmas. Despite it still being three months away, the ongoing cost of living crisis means many mums and dads will have to get presents as and when they can and look for some bargain deals.

Luckily for parents, many supermarkets and shops launch a big Christmas toy sale before the main event – and you haven’t got long to wait for them. The first one up is Asda’s Big Toy Rollback, which is predicted to begin on September 8th. The annual sale sees prices on popular toys slashed by up to 50% and it usually includes major brands such as LEGO, Barbie, Fisher-Price, Peppa Pig and Marvel. The sale is usually on both in-store and online.

Next is Argos’ Toy sale, which is expected to start around September 10. Again, prices are slashed by up to half price on a wide range of toys, such as cars, plushies, action figures, dolls and learning toys.

Tesco’s half price Toy Sale is also predicted to begin on September 15th, followed by Aldi’s Special Buys Toy Event, which people think will begin on September 21.

Fellow supermarket Morrisons is also predicted to hold their half-price toy event on September 29, while popular toy store Smyths is thought to be holding theirs around October 3rd.

The information was shared by popular Facebook account Day Out With The Kids, as it wrote: “CHRISTMAS TOY SALE DATES ARE HERE!”

The announcement certainly seemed to come welcome to many parents, with the post racking up hundreds of likes and comments.

Many people tagged their friends and partners, as one person wrote: “We’ll need to think about and start planning for this soon.”

Another said to their companion: “Maybe we could get a few bits for Christmas?”

The news comes as experts have predicted the four most popular kids toys this Christmas that will ‘suit all budgets’.

First was luxury plush toys Jellycats, which are priced from £15 all the way up to £750 for a gigantic octopus teddy.

While the second is another plush toy brand Noodolls, which typically cost between £23 and £24.

Wicked singing dolls are also predicted to be a trending toy product for Christmas with many little ones enamoured with Elphabab and Glinda. Selfridges is already predicting that it’s newly launched singing Elphaba and Glinda dolls – both £35 each – are going to be a hit.

While the last top toy predicted to sell big this festive season is LEGO’s range of Formula 1 builds that are suitable for all ages. These come in small buildable models priced at £22.99 to large scale designs which cost up to £199.99
