Tesco shopper spots aisles filled with just one item and supermarket has two-word reply

By staff7 October 2025No Comments3 Mins Read

Tesco has left members of the public in stitches with their recent aisle change, which annoyed one shopper so much they took to TikTok with it. In the end, they were left laughing too

A shopper was left gobsmacked when they went to do their regular food shop. While the shelves are usually bursting with all different types of produce, one item in particular seemed to be plastered all over the place at their local Tesco store.

Baffled by the experience, they took to TikTok to film the bizarre scene. After seeing dozens of Celebrations chocolate tubs piled high, they seemed seriously unimpressed by the lack of variety. The poster added the caption: “What if I didn’t want 73 tubs of Celebrations for my tea.”

People were equally as baffled – as the weird line-up went viral on the social media platform. The video has garnered over 380,000 likes and nearly 2,000 comments.

However, many think the abundance of chocolate selection boxes on the store shelves is actually quite funny. Including Tesco employees themselves, it seems!

In response to the amusing clip, one person joked: “If you emptied these all out I think you’d end up with a solid six Maltesers.”

Another asked: “What if I wanted a tub of Heroes instead?”

Meanwhile, a member of Tesco’s social media team has also commented on the viral post.

They simply shared the two words: “Choccies lol.” Enough said!

Other brands also waded in on the viral post, with Specsavers asking if the video was an “optical illusion.”

Krispy Kreme also added: “What a fantastic maths problem.”

Celebrations were first introduced in 1997 in the UK and they have been a firm favourite ever since.

The launch coincided with the run-up to the Christmas holiday season, when people traditionally buy and share large boxes or tins of chocolates for gatherings and gifting.

Over the years, the tins have become as nostalgic and expected as Christmas crackers or mince pies.

The current line-up includes Bounty, Galaxy, Galaxy Caramel, Mars, Maltesers, Milky Way, Snickers and Twix.

However, people haven’t been happy that the product has suffered shrinkflation ever since it was launched in the 90s.

Thankfully, you’ll be able to buy more than enough boxes of the stuff to make up for it. We hear that Tesco has plenty of them…
