Where to buy the Beats Powerbeats Pro 2 and how much are they?
The new Powerbeats Pro 2 earphones launched today (February 11) at 3pm exclusively on Apple.com. The earphones will then be landing on the shelves in shops on February 13.
You’ll be able to pick up the Powerbeats Pro 2 in four different colourways; jet black, quick sand, hyper purple and electric orange, with each colour costing £249.95.
What makes them different from previous launches?
If you’re wondering whether or not to upgrade your current earphones to the new Beats Powerbeats Pro 2, they’re definitely more advanced than other Beats earphones. Designed with athletes in mind, they feature plenty of new additions that’ll boost your workout whilst being all-round better designed for maximum performance.
They have a newly redesigned ear hook that makes them more comfortable to wear, with a significant upgrade to the sound quality, battery life and call performance. They also now feature active noise cancellation, transparency mode, adaptive QE and wireless charging.
One of the biggest improvements to the earphones, however, is the heart rate monitoring function. The Beats Powerbeats Pro 2 uses LED optical sensors that pulse more than 100 times a second to measure your blood flow directly from your earbuds (a first for both Beats and Apple) which gives you real-time data on how you’re performing during your workout.
Your data can then be relayed back to compatible fitness apps like Nike Run Club, Peloton and Runna.
Are they easy to use?
Although all the bells and whistles are great, there’s nothing worse than a bit of tech that’s a nightmare to use. The Powerbeats Pro 2 are, thankfully, super simple to work with, offering hands-free Siri and on-ear buttons that let you switch off the heart rate monitoring, customise the controls, give you your battery status and control your music.
Powerbeats Pro 2 earphones are fully compatible with Apple devices for one-touch pairing, automatic switching, audio sharing, hands-free Siri and Find My. For Android users, the Beats App unlocks one-touch pairing, which lets you adjust everything as needed.
Although the Powerbeats Pro 2 come as two individual over-ear earphones, if you prefer a style that keeps them connected, Bose’s SoundSport Pulse Wireless Headphones will set you back £199. Although they’re wireless, the earphones are connected to each other which makes them harder to lose. They also offer real-time heart rate readings, and are fully compatible with both Apple and Android devices.
The Beats Powerbeats Pro 2 earphones are now available for £245.95 at Apple.com.
