Period pants are fast becoming most people’s choice for a comfortable alternative to pads and tampons, and Boux Avenue just launched its very own versions that suit all flows
When it comes to your period, keeping yourself comfortable is top priority. As well as cramps, PMS and bloating, many people find wearing pads or tampons continuously throughout their period uncomfortable, which is why period pants have become one of the best-selling ways to protect yourself from leaks during your cycle.
Boux Avenue is the latest lingerie brand to join the period pants revolution, launching two brand new styles that suit both medium and heavy flows. The Modal Period Pants cost £30 for a pack of two, and promise to protect you from leaks whilst being comfortable and environmentally friendly.

Unlike single use products like pads and tampons, the Modal Period Pants can be re-worn over and over again, which is better for the environment whilst giving you the same security and protection that other menstrual products would give you. The pants are full leakproof and have been specifically designed to absorb between three and four tampons worth of menstrual flow, so you don’t need to worry about changing as often whilst out and about.
The Modal Period Pants have two different designs; medium flow, which absorbs up to three tampons worth, whilst the heavy flow pair can hold up to four tampons worth. If you typically have a lighter flow, you can wear them for eight to 12 hours before changing them, keeping you covered all day.
The medium flow period pants have a simple black design with a lace trim, whilst the heavy flow pair have a more high waisted fit with similar lace trim. You can pick up Boux Avenue’s Modal Period Pants in sizes 6 to 18, and they’re made from a moisture wicking modal fabric which is breathable and soft for added comfort.
With the proper laundry care, your Modal Period Pants should last you up to two years before they need replacing. To keep them in great shape avoid using fabric softener, and rinse after wearing before popping them in your washing machine and hanging up to dry.
If you want some bolder prints and colours, Marks & Spencer’s Heavy Absorbency Period Full Briefs cost £16 for a pack of three, and you can choose from either the dark cranberry colour or a leopard print design. They’re also available in sizes 8 to 24. If you want more options Wuka has everything from period pants and leggings to swimwear and reusable pads, as well as silhouettes including full briefs and thongs.
