Arsenal have opened talks with Chelsea over the signing of Noni Madueke and the Gunners have reportedly submitted a £50million bid after agreeing personal terms with the winger
Thousands of Arsenal fans have signed an online petition in an outlandish attempt to stop them from buying Noni Madueke from Chelsea. Madueke, 23, has emerged as a surprise target for the Gunners, as Mikel Arteta bids to reshape his attack.
Arsenal have reportedly submitted an offer worth £50million after agreeing personal terms with the England international. Emirates chiefs have done their homework on Madueke, speaking to people who’ve previously worked alongisde the Chelsea winger.
The Gunners seem to be convinced that he’s a player worth signing for £50m. If only their fans thought the same.
One supporter has set up a ‘#NOTOMADUEKE’ petition on the website change.org. It’s already gained more than 2,000 signatures after being set up on Wednesday.
A user, who goes by the name of Blaze Fifty, created the petition and said: “Arsenal fans deserve better, we are so close to success and instead of capitalising on the squad we have it seems we are moving 2 steps back just like the 3 previous transfer windows.

“We can surely do better than Madueke & [Viktor] Gyokeres show some ambition repay the fans the same way we’ve backed the club for the past 2 decades.”
While it seems that plenty of the Emirates faithful agree, rival supporters are taking the opportunity to poke fun at the Gunners’ fan base as talks between Arsenal and Chelsea continue.
“They could be anybody from any clubs,” one rival fan wrote on X. “Any genuine fan would back the clubs choices.”
Another added: “This is the same team that have been crying for a backup for Bukayo [Saka] and then suddenly Madueke is not what you want, which top player will want to come and be a backup to Bukayo.”
Even some fellow Arsenal fans are embarrassed. “Absolutely disgraceful behaviour, we really are the worst fan base in the world,” one posted.

A second said: “Sometimes it’s really embarrassing following Arsenal when the tiny minority behave like this for all to see.”
Madueke remains a Chelsea player for now and he’s set to be involved in Sunday’s Club World Cup final against Paris Saint-Germain. The 23-year-old has come on as a substitute in both of the Blues’ last two matches, with Enzo Maresca remaining coy on his future.
“I don’t have any doubts that if we need Noni, he will help us,” Marsesca said ahead of Tuesday’s semi-final win against Brazilian side Fluminense. “I can understand when there is noise around you, it is difficult to deal with that.”
