TikTok star Michael Armstrong, who goes by the name Michael Love on social media, has revealed his wife Emma has had a stillbirth just weeks before her due date
A TikTok star has shared the devastating news his wife has had a stillbirth weeks before her due date. Social media star Michael Armstrong’s wife Emma delivered their stillborn child at 37 weeks, he has revealed.
Michael, who goes by the name Michael Love on social media, took to Instagram to share the tragic news. He wrote: “It’s been hard to find words for this, but it’s with a heavy heart to share that our sweet baby has passed at 37 weeks.”
He continued to say how Emma, who goes by Fire Love on social media, woke up feeling something was “off”. Michael went on: “3 weeks ago, my wife woke up and noticed there wasn’t movement in her belly. She intuitively felt something was off.
“A couple hours later we got an ultrasound and the doctors found no heartbeat. We were shattered.”
He added that his wife underwent a stillbirth and delivered their child after 37 hours in labour. The couple, who had decided to wait until the child’s birth to find out the baby’s gender, revealed they had a baby boy. They called him Zen Diamond Armstrong.
Michael went on: “‘There was no sign of what went wrong. His ultrasound, body and placenta all looked good. As we’ve learned, sometimes this just happens, and 1/3 of the time no cause is ever discovered.
“I’ve been balancing the divine purpose of it all and the truth of deep grief. I know our souls wouldn’t have chosen this experience if there wasn’t a greater purpose, but the devastation is real.”
As he shared an image of the baby’s hand being held, Michael thanked those who shared messages, calling it a “light in the darkness”. He also called friends who had been helping “absolute angels,” saying they had allowed him to devote his energy to looking after his wife.
He said Emma is “navigating an unimaginable postpartum journey with such strength”. Opening up with further praise of Emma, Michael said: “She carried our son with such grace and love, singing to him each night and morning in bed.
“Thank you for holding us in your hearts. Every message, every meal, every prayer, we feel it. It matters (even if we don’t get to respond right away).”
In a heartbreaking post of her own, Emma explained how she had made so many plans for her future with her child. “I must have spent hours every day just imagining all the things I would do with my baby and the mother I would get to be,” she wrote. “We were preparing for the happiest day our life and instead we got our worst.’
She added: “There are no words to convey the depth and grief of this loss. We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and please know even if we don’t respond that your messages mean so much to our tender hearts.”
Joss Stone was among those showing sympathy on Michael’s post. Writer Simone Gisondi also wrote: “Oh my goodness Michael – i am so so sorry! Sending you and your wife love.”
And another follower added: “I’m convinced only the strongest souls encounter this. All the love to your beautiful family. “
Emma and Michael tied the knot in April 2024. In January, they announced Emma’s pregnancy.
