It’s Friday, May 23, and one star sign is likely to make progress in romantic pursuits and personal goals.

There are 12 zodiac signs – Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces – and the horoscopes for each can give you the lowdown on what your future holds, be it in work, your love life, your friends and family or more.

These daily forecasts have been compiled by astrologer Russell Grant, who has been reading star signs for over 50 years. From Aries through to Pisces, here’s what today could bring for your horoscope – and what you can do to be prepared.

Aries (Mar 21 – Apr 20)

Money is a topic that creates a sense of tension. Managing your debts is proving to be more difficult than you had thought. Lending or borrowing money will put a strain on a friendship. Take a practical approach to finances before it gets out of control.

Taurus (Apr 21 – May 21)

It’s important to pay attention to what your body is telling you. If you feel the need to take a break, choose a calming activity that helps you unwind. On the other hand, if you’re ready to get on with something physical and demanding, then go for it. Your health should always be your top priority.

Gemini (May 22 – June 21)

You have your sights set on a special goal and you intend to reach it. Your determination is making a positive impression on a key executive. Your charm is hard for people to resist. If you’re keen to attend a business trip, seminar, workshop or conference, be sure to let your boss know.

Cancer (June 22 – July 23)

You have something on your mind that you want to talk about but pushing the issue when others don’t want to listen will not get you very far. Your partner or a housemate is feeling pressured into making a choice they aren’t ready for.

Leo (July 24 – Aug 23)

As you’re unlikely to be in the mood for anything routine later in the day, it would be a good idea to get the more mundane tasks out of the way as soon as you can. Remember that focusing on what you are doing is essential to avoid making mistakes.

Virgo (Aug 24 – Sept 23)

Although you don’t really want to listen and some topics don’t interest you at all, pay close attention to the suggestions and ideas around you. They may be more valuable than you are currently thinking. Experiences you have already been through will lead you to take action later.

Libra (Sept 24 – Oct 23)

A partner will feel more at ease and less overwhelmed when they know they can count on you. Take the lead and look for ways to help lighten their load. You need to be more hands-on and organised when words might help but people need practical assistance too.

Scorpio (Oct 24 – Nov 22)

Senior colleagues are looking for people who bring life experience, social skills and an awareness of having been around others to their work. When you find yourself in a situation you have never been in before, it will be an older friend or workmate you can rely on for their wisdom and advice.

Sagittarius (Nov 23 – Dec 21)

You’re likely to make good progress in both romantic pursuits and personal goals. You have the wisdom to realise that a subtle approach will be the most effective at this time. Keep work-related conversations brief and to the point. Embrace your creativity and let your imagination shine.

Capricorn (Dec 22 – Jan 20)

To keep moving forward, it’s important to share your time with creative and talented people. An unexpected invitation to travel will be received. Expect to be attending a meeting or interview when another colleague has to pull out at the last minute.

Aquarius (Jan 21 – Feb 19)

If you’re considering making some changes, these won’t be impulsive choices. You will approach such decisions thoughtfully and with care. This attitude is mirrored in your health. You are taking medical issues seriously and will stick to professional advice regarding your well-being.

Pisces (Feb 20 – Mar 20)

Stay open-minded. Be willing to go with changes some people are suggesting. Respond to questions with honesty. You will find that relationships flourish when you let others see that you are genuinely listening to what they have to say. Challenge yourself to go the extra mile.
