Tom Grennan suffers ‘greatest onstage fall in history’ during live concert

By staff6 September 2025No Comments3 Mins Read

The singer slipped and fell hard off a platform during his live show in Birmingham as he attempted a jump while belting out the words to his hit song Lionheart

Tom Grennan gave fans in Birmingham more drama than they expected on Thursday night after suffering what he jokingly described as the “greatest onstage fall in history”.

The 30-year-old singer-songwriter was in the middle of an energetic performance when the accident happened. Grennan bounded across the stage while performing his hit track Lionheart before sprinting towards a raised platform.

But the ambitious leap didn’t go to plan, and he went flying backwards onto the ground in front of the packed crowd. Despite clearly being in pain, the hitmaker refused to let the tumble ruin the show.

He rolled straight back to his feet and carried on almost as if nothing had happened. The audience later cheered him on as he admitted, “Not gonna lie that really hurt.”

Later, Grennan shared footage of the mishap on TikTok. “You’re just about to witness the greatest onstage fall in history,” he wrote across the clip, before reassuring fans with a follow-up message: “(I’m good btw).”

Fans have praised the singer’s professionalism for persevering with the show despite the accident. One wrote: “Amazing night Tom!!! Never stopped dancing all night, hope you’re ok after the fall!!!!”

Another added: “Owned this fall! Looked so painful, show was amazing, roll on next tour.” Others were quick to urge the star to take care on the road, with one warning: “Let’s not be getting injured on this tour Tom.”

The onstage slip comes during a big year for Grennan. Earlier this summer, he quietly became a father for the first time, welcoming daughter Dorothy – nicknamed Dottie – with wife Danniella Carraturo.

The couple kept the news private for several months before announcing it on Instagram in August. Grennan has admitted that he initially struggled to adjust to fatherhood.

“For me, it was actually kind of tough because you go, ‘the baby actually doesn’t need me at all, what this baby needs is mum,’” he explained on his BBC podcast You About? “But then mum needs me, I need to be there just supporting and doing as much as I can. You don’t want to feel jealous of the fact that the baby wants what she wants, it’s more, it’s not jealousy, it’s just, ‘I’m useless right now’.

“I’m third wheeling big time. I can’t feed her, I can’t do anything really, apart from just be really supportive with Danniella.” Despite those early challenges, the Little Bit of Love singer says becoming a dad has been the greatest gift of his life.

“To now be stepping into fatherhood at the same time is the greatest gift I could ever imagine,” he told fans when he announced Dottie’s birth. “Music gave me purpose, but being a dad gives me everything. Here’s to the past that built me, the present that grounds me, and the future I can’t wait for.”
