Tom Holland was reportedly rushed to the hospital after a stunt on the set of the upcoming Spider-Man movie went wrong. The actor is said to have cracked his head in a fall
Tom Holland was reportedly rushed to the hospital last Friday after a stunt on the set of the upcoming Spider-Man film went horribly wrong.
According to reports, it is believed that the British actor, 29, cracked his head in a fall and was treated for a concussion on Sept. 19. A woman, who is thought to be a stunt double, was allegedly also taken to the hospital in an ambulance.
Currently, filming for the $200 million production of Spider-Man: Brand New Day has been suspended at Leavesden Studios in Watford, England, and could be on hold for weeks while the lead actor recovers.
While speaking to The Sun, a spokesperson for East of England Ambulance Service confirmed, “We were called at 10.30am on Friday to attend to a patient who had sustained an injury at Leavesden Studios in Watford.”, reports the Mirror US.
“An ambulance was sent to the scene, and the patient was transported to hospital for further care.” Tom’s father Dominic also shed light on the issue while attending a charity dinner.
The comedian said his son would be taking a break from filming “for a while.”
The actor was also in attendance at the event in Mayfair, as well as his fiancée Zendaya, but Tom allegedly left the event early because he was feeling unwell.
The Mirror US has reached to a representative for Tom and Leavesden Studios for comment. The actor had previously voiced his enthusiasm for the next chapter in the Spider-Man franchise.
Speaking to Complex, he revealed: “It’s been a really fun process developing the movie.” In contrast to previous films, Tom has taken greater control behind the camera.
Prior to production, he conducted some “sneaky research” into fans’ responses to earlier instalments to “put together a vibe of what people were looking for” in the forthcoming picture.
He has collaborated with producers to deliver what audiences are craving on screen. He confessed: “It’s the first time I’ve ever been allowed in that part of the process, and it’s definitely a stressful experience. But I think where we’ve got to, now that we’re shooting, we are shooting absolute gold.
“Its a fresh start, it really feels like we’re not making the fourth movie,” he added. “We’re making the first movie of the next chapter. It’s a rebirth. It’s a whole new thing.”
Alongside Tom, Zendaya and Jacob Batalon will be reprising their roles for the fourth film. Multiple fresh faces are joining the ensemble including Liza Colón-Zayas and Sadie Sink.
Marvel Studios’ Jon Bernthal and Mark Ruffalo are also poised to make their franchise bow. Currently, Spider-Man: Brand New Day remains slated to arrive in cinemas on July 31, 2026.
